Crown Trick was one of the most pleasant surprises of 2022 for me (I know the game it's older, I just discovered it late), and I don't think this gem gets the attention it deserves.
Anyone can relate/pitch in?

It's one of those game I brought during a steam sales that now sits in my embarrassingly large pile of shame. Good to know its good, maybe I'll play it in a couple of year.

Looking at publisher library, they have a lot of good indie game under their catalogue, witch knight looks super fun.

I tried it about a year ago. I didn't play very long and didn't really like it all that much for reasons I don't really remember anymore.

It has a bit of a learning curve and bad RnG can sink some runs within the first 5 mins. Yet, there are many, many ways to turn the tides in your favor, and even after I "got gut" at the game, such new prospects kept on refreshing my interest. There are so many items that interact in wholly unexpected ways that you never know when a seemingly doomed run will morph into a joyous ride of rising combo-streaks. Here's the review I chanced upon online that made me give this game a shot, and I'm thankful for it!

I was interested until I learned it's a roguelike, and then I wasn't. I've heard it's good, but I'm just completely burned out on roguelike indies.

I played and beat it a while back and rather enjoyed it. It has a lot of polish to its art and a lot of different mechanics. It's quite a good game.

Small inconsequential thing I enjoyed from it was the giggle Elle makes when you reload a gun.

It's a roguelike but it has a defined end point to it so if the reason you weren't interested was because you didn't want to play some endless game then you should give it a shot since it's not like that.

You can still play it after the final boss, though, and discover new item interactions long after rolling credits. So, every run opens new possibilities - once you align your pace with how the game is supposed to be played, it's just tons of funs. @Specter Von Baren favorite combo of familiars? I used Taloncrawler and Hellish Boxer mostly, though Firebreather is great while still low on trinkets

Oh yeah, you can still play it. But its a game where you can get to an end and say, "Yeah I think I'm satisfied now" and stop playing if one so chooses.

Favorite combo? I'm quite fond of doing various combinations with Leviathan. I love getting the double proc off on its long range attack.

It really is a shame that more people haven't played it. There's so many different weapons and affects and interactions in the game that it's clear that the creators put a lot of care into making it.

Yeah, it's a real passion project, no doubt. I can tell they were aiming to craft something new and allow for quick-bursts of joy as well. Each run breeds so much potential momentum that is really hard not have a good time (once you "get it", of curse). So, it's a game that you can (and should) take your time with, but also - one where a good roll can produce winning streaks without much player input.

Who knows, maybe it will evolve into an "unhidden gem" in time... It certainly packs enough of a punch!
