(Part of a Series of things that I have had. The other's involving Slender Man coming for you, and C'Thulhu waking up and attacking the earth)

You wake up in the middle of the night from a rather weird dream. You try and go to sleep, but you just keep thinking about that dream. Suddenly, you hear a "Listen..." and you look around. No one is in your bedroom, so you decide you just were hearing voices and eventually you calm down and go back to sleep. As you sleep, however, someone talks to you.

"You doubt my existence, but I am all too real..."
"I have been written about, but you thought it was fiction..."
"I am C'Thulhu! (Or, if you prefer, any other HP Lovecraft inspired Nightmares)"
"And from now on, I demand you work for me..."
"Your mind, and... your soul... belong to me..."

You wake up in a sweat and scream your head off. You don't tell anyone about it, and you decide it was all just something weird.

But every night from that night on, C'Thulhu's (or other Old/Outer/Elder god) voice grows louder in your head. Eventually, he starts talking to you when it's morning.

What would you do in a situation like this?

Me? I'd probably go to an asylum.

Well, you know... that completely depends on what he is saying (maybe he could help me cheat on exams etc? ;D )

You must obey. That was the mighty C'Thulgu's wrath will not be taken out on you, and if you appease the mighty one perhaps the world will be spared...

Solid logic right there...

"Finally! I've been waiting for you guys for awhile. What took you so fucking long?"

Something along those lines.

I talk to myself so much that, frankly, a change of pace would probably be nice. It depends on whether or not the aforementioned Lovecraftian horror can force me to do things. Random voices in my head can be ignored - I can invent them for myself perfectly easily

Go for a walk in a field of mushrooms, get a goldfish in a bottle, talk to hotel managers and complain about their establishments, get a lizard and sleep with lizard food in my mouth... Anything to get my Nightmares down to 0.

(Points if you get the reference.)

Realize I probably was still half asleep which would be where the voices were coming from, and sleep it off. Oh wait, I didn't read the whole thing, um, go on a quest to kill him I guess.

"So...what do you want me to do?"

Decide if his is a reasonable request, and if it is, do it!
If not, tell him no, and try to ignore him.

If he can help me out or if he promises power then I'd go along with it until I am so powerful I can kick his as* and become the all powerful being of earth.

Just remember, Cthulu loves you, preferably on a bun with ketchup.

OT: Y'know Mr. Cthulu, its nice that you're talking to me and all but I don't have time for you at the moment. I'll have my secretary notify you when my timeslots are free. Thank you for your consideration though and have a nice Apocalypse.

Cthulhu speaks English? I was under the impression that the Great Old Ones only spoke in their tongue and especially not to lesser beings like ordinary humans.
Anyway, I think this event would set my sanity points to zero so don't ask me what I'll be doing, ask crazy me.
