Globetrotter XL

Cheezy One? Hello? Little help here, you're on! Hello...? Uh oh...Erm, ok, you can improvise...let's see, something with six, something with six...ah ha!

Globetrotter XL is an educational game. I know, I know, why do I punish you with an educational game for the 6th day of Christmas, but think of it this way. Santa Claus knows every freaking thing about Geography there is to know, from every single residence in New York City to Atlantis' location to the weird hermit's house near Detroit. You might as well brush up on it and see just how hard Santa works every day to keep his knowledge current for Christmas. Seriously, this game is harder than you?d think...

The gameplay at its core is simple. From the word "Start" you are thrusted into a level of fast-paced-ness. In a limited amount of time, you must point to each city designated by the level. You have a limited number of tries to rack up points. The more accurate you are in pointing to the city, the more points you get. Get enough points, you can go to the next level. Come up short, and you lose.

Simple, right? It may be easy when you get stuff like "Paris, France" or "London, England" or "Rome, Italy". But, the game is content to throw you some of the weirdest curveballs like "Malta, Malta", "Port Louis, Mauritius", or "Bata, Equatorial Guinea". This game starts getting cut-throat very quickly. (Heck, I've never ever made it to level FIVE, even!)

The game does what it needs to do right, but it does leave me wondering "is it too hard?" The game doesn't seem to expect much out of us, however. Anyway, I recommend it, but if you don't have some college geography under your belt, be sure that you have an atlas spread out on your lap (you cheater).

Merry 6th day of Christmas, everyone!

Now, where the heck is my employer?

Heh, I suck at this game. Most of the time I just guess exactly where the country is and hope the town is close enough...
I was wondering why there was only 6... Then I realised Antarctica wasn't there...

Not only are there no cities in Antarctica, Antarctica is melting due to global warming.

Die Antarctica, die! (Feeds more burning tires into the fireplace)
