Has anyone messed around with the Cuil search site, I like it. I has a lot of potential. I'm going to use it everyday, mostly to upset the Google domination.

I think the possibility to do something faster, better or easier is at least worth a try. Why change from VHS tape to DVD or dialup to broadband?

I've never heard of it before this thread, but it looks pretty cool. Then again, I always love new shit before it goes mainstream. Oh yeah, and the fact that it isn't saturated in ads yet is a plus.

I'm using Cuil right now...I think it has potential to be very useful, but it's too early to say for certain.

Faster? Google's pretty instant, or do you mean "more efficient" as in "have to wade through fewer useless websites".

I've heard about it. Supposedly it's from a bunch of Google guys who decided they could make a better search engine. I haven't gone about testing it, as really Google does more for me then searching, so I continue to use it. But who knows. They may be the next hottest thing.

EDIT: Although after a bit of usage, I will say that the "Explore by Category" is an interesting feature. Doesn't seem fully developed though. I will say that the system could stand to use a bit of refinement. But I could have said that about Google when it first hit the 'net.

Using little thumbnails to link to sites that are hosting them is generally considered fair use (also, nobody's really going to complain about the extra attention). Cuil, however, is allegedly using images from site A to illustrate an entry for site B. That's a big no-no.

i've heard that they are talking to reuter's about their semantic technology.
if they can get that and get faster servers and additional services going on, well, then i'm all for cuil. have already added it to the searches in opera and am using it for research, although google is still the better choice for regular searches. but that might change, hopefully.
