okay guys so heres the deal.
I've looked this up all over, but cant find anything on it...

When can I use encounter spells
How many can I use
and how do i prepare them...

a totally noob question, but I cant find an answer. I'm really new to D&D, so I dont know much about it, and I'd like to at least have a rough idea of whats going on before I jump into a full campaign

You can use each encounter spell once per encounter. Hence "encounter" spell. You can use as many as you want - just so long as you only use each one once in a single encounter.

I don't recall "preparing" any spells in 4E, but I don't know what class you're playing.

Unless they added something new in since I last checked, the whole Vancian magic thing is out in 4ed. There's no more spell preparation, ala 3ed wizards.

But yeah, person before me got it. Encounter abilities can be used once per encounter (often a scene or a battle), and unless there are specific rules saying otherwise, you can use any that you have.

thank you very much.
This was a huge help
^^ No problem!

I've only played a little 4E (I mostly play Pathfinder) but I'm pretty good at remembering rules.
