Looks like we're getting a Volo's guide esque expansion of base classes and spells/ feats to 5e.

Also check out the limited edition artwork.

Is this exciting for anyone else?
The page lists the cavalier, the inquisitive and the horizon walker.

Is there anything you'd like to see included?

I hate this naming convention. Just say what the expanded rules are about.

Colour me excited, I loved the Volos Guide to Monsters.

Plus I did like the Rogue Inquisitive archetype so I'm glad to hear they are fleshing it out into an official archetype, new spells are always welcome and so are new Feats, but let's hope they don't screw those up, because honestly I did not like the UA feats all that much.

Admittedly I've only d&d'ed for a little while but I never really pick feats when given the opportunity. Maybe once the first time you can but after that, +2 to something all day every day.

Really? I love Feats, I almost always go for one or 2 Feats, though admittedly I mostly play Rogues that focus in Investigation and trap-finding which can make up for bad stats with the correct combination of Expertise and feats, for example, I had a Rogue in Curse of Strahd that never missed anything due to the Observant Feat combined with Rogue Expertise on Perception, sure he may have only had a 12 to WIS but double proficiency + 5 to Passive Perception is crazy good, plus the ability to read lips and a similar bonus for Insight makes for a magnificent Spy character, add Linguist Feat and you can decipher pretty much any code, admittedly he did have a 20 to DEX by the time he died, sadly it was a combination of his observational skills and stealth skills that killed him, he saw something he shouldn't have and nobody can save something they can't see.

I'd recommend playing a Human Variant character to which you build the character around the feat, for example, I'm playing a stupidly ridiculous multi-class Wizard Illusionist/Bard/Rogue right now who mostly focuses on talking since I built her around the actor feat.

May be important to mention that I don't care for Combat in general and my characters normally provide some limited support during combat like setting up traps or using the help action for someone else's attack, you know except for the one time I played a Paladin I rarely shine in combat, not that I do nothing but I just help everyone else look cool while looking useless but actually helping, you know I'd play a good squire to a gallant Knight.

By the sounds the Rouge almost could have made it through the Tomb of horrors traps.

I heard a big complaint of 5e, from the 3.5 crowd, is that it's now harder to create the exact character you want to role play compared to 3.5. So I guess feats help ease that a bit. So the more the better in that case.

In regards to support based characters someone I know made a paladin who took plate armour and a shield with no weapon. They played as a pacifist who was a healing sponge in combat and tried to talk through every problem.

Levels 10 to 14? Yeah he could have taken on that, he was already excellent at level 7, so with a little bit more careful thought and well organized with a decent Divination Wizard, probably doable.

As for your friend, that's way easier to do with a Cleric than a Paladin but props to him, and yeah, they help better define your character's specialization which is good for RP.
