Stand up comedia Dara O'Briain did a good size bit in his recent TV gig "Live at the Apollo" about being a gamer, it's quite interesting!

It's near the beginning so no need to watch too far! He covers an amazingly wide range of topics!!!

He was on Charlie Brooker's show once talking about games... Apparently he never beat Gears of War 1. He's a pretty awesome all-round guy.

Oh how I love Dara O' Briain, he's a legend. His stand-up is almost underrated
Greg Davies is also amazing. I saw his stand-up before anything he did on TV and it is pure gold

Awesome. I often feel that if I did standup I'd probably spend too long talking about real issues that matter to me. e.g. how people perceive games.

Frankly I'm suprised he didn't mention and make a joke saying the guy's name is "Solid Snake". Seriously, I would've made a joke along the lines of "What's his girlfriend's name? Liquid Badger?"

I just woke all three of my housemates, and my cheeks actually hurt from laughing.

I love Dara O'Briain, and I knew he was a gamer before, but I've never seen that skit. Absolutely fantastic.

Of course, possibly even better in that there's clearly some people in the audience who know exactly what he's talking about (the response to 'Solid Snake' made me giggle) and the rest haven't got a clue.

made me lol when he was talking about MGS, the SNNNAAAAAAKKKEEEE does get annoying

i laughed more at the irish beauty pageant joke though. less people will understand that than the gaming jokes

Ah Dara, me old mucker. I actually saw him live, and he is ten shades of awesome. Even better, and I know I'm being sacrilegious here, than Frankie or Russel.

In fact, that's part of the routine he did. Dara's a big a nerd as any of us here. Bigger actually. The fecker's about seven foot tall.

Not sacreligious at all there, Dara is a much better stand up IMO than Frankie or Russel. Russel is a bit tame, and Frankie gets tiresome quickly, he's best in very short bouts.

Plus I can't help comparing Frankie Boyle to the king of one liners Jimmy Carr and he really doesn't stand up to that.

If the Russell is Russell brand then I move to have him struck from the list of comedians. I've seen him but all he does is, in essence, talk like a shit... and then people laugh.

Brilliant!

I saw him live a couple of years ago too, and throughly enjoyed it. Now I have even more respect for him!

Definitely. While I've nothing against Russell, I've seen drying paint more entertaining than Frankie! He's also not a pleasant man in person...

I believe they are referring to Russel Howard. He is actually very funny.
