Would anyone be interested in joining a dark heresy campaign? It's based in the Warhammer 40K universe, you play as humans in the imperium of man.

Very interesting setting, solid rules.

I'll have to roll a template up when I'm back from "stuff" today, but anyways.

Dark Heresy is a gothic sci-fi environment. Humanity is beset on all sides by "dangerous" aliens as well as heretics.

The human race, at this point, is ancient and has devolved into a state where even the most basic technology (guns, refrigerators, computers are treated along the lines of magic and only the priesthood know exactly how anything really works.

As players, you play a group of acolytes working for an inquisitor who sends you on a variety of different missions.

I'd be in

Do you just want us to use the character creation link there to make em? and if so, should we just post up chars, or would you rather set up story and see who wants to be what archetype first?

I'm thinkin Arbitrator looks pretty fun to me

EDIT:

Here's the Link to my char, I just used the Random button to make the background, if you'd like more, just let me know and I'll see what I can do about it. I will also work up a character appearance as soon as I can.

Right now, I'm swamped in writing for different sources, so I'd rather you guys linked your characters first. We could use an IRC bot to deal with the dice rolls, and everything else.

I posted the character sheet as an edit in my previous post, this is just to make sure the RP doesn't fall too far down and we don't see that char's are being put up :)

Ahhhh yes, the Dark Heresy Campaign RP, many have tried, many have failed on this site, I wish you the best of luck, but I'll sit this one out.

To my knowledge,Tech-Priest is an allowed character type in Dark Heresy, but Chibz has final say here

I check, its allow. But I just want to make sure that Chibz doesn't have a problem with it.

I don't have the rules, but I am very immersed in the 40K background. Where can I find them?
Beyond theft on the high seas, you could spend the equivalent of a videogame to buy the rulebook at any nearby RPG store. May seem cheap, but by the standards of RPG books it's double normal price.

Back on topic, I'm tentatively interested (as I always am with taking another RPG on board)

There's some confusion over the starting XP available; different players have 200, 300, 400. We should standardise this before the game so no one is just far and away better or worse. When we've agreed on that stuff I'll tune up my character's backstory and such. The Random button made the whole process very fun: I'm a 46 year old female assassin, raised on a dead world, whose entire family are scum and assassins. If that's not evocative I don't know what is.

Edit: DAMN IT. Lost her, forgot to link her, now can't find her. I guess I'll just try and redo her as best I can, or randomise something almost as cool.

I have no problem with tech priests being played. I just have no idea when this will be run, so be ready at almost any time.

Let's try to aim for 300 exp.

sounds good, also, are we allowed to adjust our starting equipment? I'd prefer my character to have a stub-pistol or a las pistol over the starting shotgun that arbitrators seem to come with
