I for one have been up all night waiting for the DLC to come out for download, Got to fight the first boss with someone else who already somehow has the DLC, and it was a bit boring, I won't spoil though. It's going to be fun running through it with all my characters, though I can only hope it doesn't make me throw TO much of a hissy fit. (knowing dark souls, i'l be throwing myself to the wolves XD )

So! What builds are you going to be running through the dlc first time? And if you've already played it, any words of advice?

As for me, i'l be running through it the first time with my Fire Grand lance tank. Just hope nothing goes wrong! After that i'l try my melee/faith, my hammer build and probably sorceries after that, never hexes though, because it's better to burn a soul vessel than be a dirty hexer scum.

captcha: Twenty three

No it's the twenty second, captcha, but good guess.

I currently have a strength character and a hex character on the go. Both are roughly half way through the game (I have finished the game but I deleted that character). I'll probably go with my strength character first just because I'm having a lot of fun with it. I have no idea if there is any recommendation in regards to how strong your character should be so I'm just going to dive right in head first.

Here is a tip for the first boss: Fish for backstabbing, trust me, you can backstab, and it's pretty much the easiest option.

Oh... Well, gonna have to wait until I get paid for this one, only a couple more weeks.
Also, this is probably give me time to finish Dark Souls 1 for the 247 time before I move on to Dark Souls 2 with the DLC, or might just wait and buy all three when they all released... Or maybe even wait until around December where I will upgrade to a new computer that will run Dark Souls 2 and play it on the best of the plataforms.

Does anyone know if there's a season pass for the DLC on 360? I know somebody mentioned that there was one for the PC version, I didn't heard anything about the 360.

Anyway, I will have to wait a little longer.

OBS: I am college guy working for the college receiving less than the minimum pay, mostly because they let me study there for free if I do it. So yeah, I am quite broke. I been saving real hard for that PC.

Can't play the game until later in the week.

My two complaints with DS2 is the poor level design and overall boring bosses. I felt that the levels were mostly linear and rarely rewarded exploration. Also the bosses were boring to fight with most of them being giant humanoid enemies with a big weapon. I felt that Dark Souls (and Demon Souls) had better level and boss designs.

Are these aspects addressed in the DLC?

Yes. This might spoil you a little but, one of the boss-fights, sadly i dont know which one it is exactly as i have only been summoned for it so far, is essentially 3 human enemies. Essentially, as someone on reddit said, its a Ganksquad simulator. And apparently the endboss can summon previous bosses into the fight. Also there's Jester Thomas as a red Invader who acts like a human player, doing gestures and everything.

The DLC is hard primarily because it throws out any semblance of balance the game had. Im doing 400 damage to common enemies..with a great lightning spear. 400. I do 800 to everything else thanks to FROM reducing the damage rather than increase it on accident. So essentially my main is fairly useless in there.

That's a shame. I really hated bosses that involve multiple enemies, and it seems that is the type of boss that DS2 has a hard-on for. As annoying as the Gargoyles or Ornstein and Smough could be in DS1, they were extremely memorable due to their designs and that they were the only boss in the game with multiple enemies. They felt fair regardless of their difficulty. The only boss fight in DS2 with multiple enemies I really enjoyed was Darklurker. Unlike all other multiple enemy bosses, he felt fair regardless of his difficulty.

I just found out that you're being summoned for the challenge route, you know the route that from stated was the harder path? GANK HEAVEN!

Actually no, the damage is the same, i know because i went through the door and down to the first bonfire, first enemy after that took 3 GLS to kill, at 400 damage each spear. Thats ridiculous.

Really depresses me how right I was about the DLC after seeing how abysmal Dark Souls II was.

First boss is
A Queen, who resembles Nashandra, does spells and summons skeletons

Second boss is the 3-man crew as described by A-D. Havel dude, Alva dude, and Archer-Lucatiel-Dark Leather Armor lady.

Third boss is
a dumbed down poison version Kalameet.

All the new spells are rehashes from the core game, and some from Dark Souls and 1 from Demon's Souls.

The B-Team continues to do D-Grade material, and people will DEFEND this shit.

I've been hearing mostly positive things about this DLC so far, and it got some praise form VaatiVidya, as he states it has the kind of interconnected level design from the first game that many of us missed, cool puzzles and shortcuts, a few new enemies, and one meh boss with two rather excellent ones.

I haven't gotten around to it myself yet (damn you work and responsibilities) but I will be trying it out tonight and I'm pretty excited!

Haven't gotten to the bosses, but the level design so far is easily better than anything in Dark Souls 2. It's really good, like close to Dark Souls 1 good.

Its already live, on PC at least. Probably on consoles as well. But yeah the DLC is "hard" because FROM simply made it so every enemy is apparently resistant to everything and hits like a truck. I swear the sunken knights do around 400-500 damage..per hit. Although i dont use heavy armor so that may be it.

That's because people have different views on these kinds of things. Your opinion is not the be all end all.

Please keep this in mind.

I didn't say such in my post, don't project so much. Also I'm allowed to to be disgusted with other people's opinions.

Why don't you keep that in mind?
