As a fan of the game, I'm hoping this pays off. There's passion in the project, as the above links go into full detail with, and a level of understanding and respect for the game that I only wish a director of a big-budget movie would have.
(And if there's anyone sceptical about their reference to Valhalla Rising as an inspiration, someone questioned them over its slow pace and self-importance; they had this to say in response: )
