Dawn of the Devs Kickstarter

Just came across this interesting little idea: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/321726829/dawn-of-the-devs

Seems they are making a 2D Platformer using parody likenesses of several famous (and infamous) game developers as central characters while playing homage to several gaming industry staples and tropes.

I like the core concept, but find it hard to really get excited about yet another Indie 2D Platformer, and that's coming from someone who genuinely enjoys the genre.

What do you all think about this game?

Damn, I'd be more interested if the actual video game industry personalities were involved, instead of just caricatures of them. Seeing what the characters look like and their names it's like "Look who's in our game! (But not really...)".

I think indie studios need to learn how to fucking animate.

I'm sick of seeing that garbage low effort sliding parts flash puppetry style. How hard is it to draw something at more than one angle?

I think you're simplifying how to animate things quite a bit there.

Even if it is parody, they must be very careful how to portait them...
Also I wanted other kind of well-known developers, but is just me...
