Dead Island - Won't let me install it.

My spes's are fine,My PC is clean and works fine but Dead Island won't install. I'm trying to install it from Disc, it starts to install directx9 and everything else but it disappears and does nothing.
Is there a fix or have Techland F'ed me over?

Sorry I had to have steam open, it didn't tell me until I saw it implied in Tech support.

Not as bad as Supreme Commander 2. Needed to download more than half of the game off of steam. What if you get the game for Xmas and don't have an internet connection? Disc based games should be installed from the disc, not half off steam, or while the computer is connected to the internet. When you can connect to the net it should Authenticate the game, but if you do not have an internet connection, you shouldn't NEED the internet to play the game.
