I heard this rumour around a couple friends that Dead Rising could be coming out for the wii. This would be super cool awesome fun if it were true, any evidence or reports of this?

most likly because it could be fun to slice zombies with motion controls and it's one of those games that the Wii could benefit from.

While I am glad to see the Wii get something other than bright colorful happiness simulators, I can't help but wonder:

1) Why almost 2 years after the initial release?

2) Why does Capcom not put a bit of effort into making a decent RE5 version for the Wii instead of spending resources on making a port of a rather old game that wasn't all that hot to begin with?

I'm not sure how they're going to do it "not on the clock", as it were. The time was such an important factor of Dead Rising. You had to save people quickly, you had to get the cases done in time, you had to make it all the way across the mall, which was full of zombies, and do it in under 5 minutes.... I'm trying to picture the game without that impetus and I'm not sure I like it as much. Also, the big drive of Dead Rising was the hundreds and hundreds of zombies onscreen at a given time. I wonder how well that'll carry over on the Wii.

That said, the motion controls could be awesome if done right, and shooting guns should be much easier now.

though the motion controls will be fairly basic, they dont have a proper control which completely mimics your actions, just a motion of sideways swipes usually. Should be pretty fun though, but i swear to god if Otis's phone noises come through the Wii remote i will break the damn thing.
