Dealing with Team Killing in Halo

I'm an Xbox Live Gamer. The reason for this is I grew up with consoles, immigrated to the United States from Australia, couldn't pack my computer and have to start re-building from scratch.

I also play Halo: Reach. I'm not a die hard fan of the series, but I actually do enjoy it as a game and the online multiplayer is my cuppa tea. The same goes for the CoD franchise.

What I CANNOT STAND in reach is people who want the turret in the back of the Warthog, the Sniper Rifle or the Rocket Launcher. People who, If you get it before them, regardless of being on your team, will pummel and kill you for it.
As their first betrayal, you aren't always given the option to boot the player and these are douche gamers of the highest calibre, talking crap about how "1337" they are.

So, I have the solution.

I follow them.

If I cannot boot them for intentional betrayal, I do NOTHING to them but follow them. I stand in front of them while they try to shoot. I get in their Warthog and refuse to shoot the turret. I get IN THEIR FACE and then Avoid Player after the match.
Sometimes, they get mad. Sometimes they kill me. Then I boot them.

I still get the XP/Credits, but they don't. Consequences for their actions. And once they're gone, I go back to playing Halo FAIRLY. No intentional betrayal. No tea-bagging. No more trolling in front of cross hairs. I go back to my game and kick ass while I do it, free /of their stupidity.

Try it some time. I dare you not to laugh while you do it. It's quite gratifying.

Ive done the same thing to a few annoying individuals in COD for insulting other members of their team. (usually not me, I play fairly well most of the time) I just find it really irritating when people feel the need to ***** out their team instead of just either shutting up and dealing with it, or leaving.

To be honest, I reckon that approach sounds incredibly bizarre.

You're not doing anything other than wasting your own time and it would have next to no impact on whoever you are doing it to. They'll keep going on with their douchebaggery (if it wasn't accidental in the first place) and you aren't really doing anything to stop it and theres nothing you can really do anyway, so quit trying to.

Wanna know the real solution to teamkilling? Turn fucking friendly fire the fuck off. I swear the majority of my deaths are from my teammates frag grenades during a firefight.
Nothing sucks more than smashing a guys face in and getting a big kill streak and then getting nailed by frags from your teammates, or seeing a Warthog with a driver, gunner and flag carrier in it getting blasted to bits by your teammate who accidently hit it with a rocket, or a spartan laser guy killing an enemy, as well as the valuable friendly vehicle behind it.
But if the team killing wasn't accidental, it still doesn't really matter? If they killed you for a weapon or vehicle go grab another one or just make do without it, if they kill your team repeatedly to feed the bad dudes points or 'for the lolz' then they'll eventually be booted.
Either way, the current set up is stupid, especially in a game like Halo where about at least one fifth of kills in the match will be caused by teammates. It seems like complete insanity to even have friendly fire in such a game in the first place.
Shit, Halo Reach would be much better if there was no friendly fire in standard games, the matchmaking system didn't suck so much (you know somethings up when a bunch of level 5's get put in with a group of guys at the highest level, and the lower levelled and less experienced guys get penalized for quitting a match they have no chance of winning) and if armour lock and headshot weapons were nerfed.

Meh, one can dream.

Oh, believe me, I know it's a waste of time. I've resigned myself to the fact that they will continue to be tools and that out of the thousand I will do this to, I will get through to maybe one. But it DOES do what I intended for it to do.

It makes me feel better.

They killed me for a gun or a car and now I'm jumping up and down in front of their scope. I KNOW they're screaming at their TV while I do it and that makes me laugh harder, because it means that there was a consequence to their action. Even karma. They thought they could just kill me and take my gun? I take their ability to earn credits from a match. They hamper my ability to enjoy a match? I take theirs. And I do it to their face.

Team Killing has more than one consequence now.

As for no friendly fire... People play for realism. I'm sure the U.S Army would like to be able to turn off friendly fire too. No friendly fire turn it into a kids game where people throw grenades without a care in the world. And unclaimed Warthogs would STILL be destroyed by stray shots because they aren't associated with any team at all, meaning it isn't friendly fire.

Headshot weapons don't need to be nerfed. They need to stay how they are. Would you like TWO headshots to take out a target in BTB Snipers? Making it a kids game and too easy to get away when someone shoots you.

Don't like Armour-lock? It's a game mechanic unique to Halo and wholly believable in that universe. If you don't like it, play CoD.

But I digress from the actual topic:
Give Team Killers consequences for being tools and have A LOT of fun while you do it!
