Dear Escapist: Board looks even uglier. Please fix.

I'm still annoyed that there aren't any drop-down tables to take me to specific video series like Zero Punctuation or Unskippable. Forums are still looking fine though.

I've got to agree with jack here. Maybe I will get used to it, but my initial reaction is distaste.

Too large? I beg to differ. It makes it feel less cramped, more airy and so less confusing. It's easier to distinguish topics and posts within topics now.

Now they just have to fix the main page. It suffers a lot from a lack of white space and general cluttery-ness.

I dunno, I just feel like every time they change the look of The Escapist they make it look a bit more diluted and monochrome. I don't mind most of it, but I really hate how those grey bars between posts look.

I was surprised to see this new design coming back from a standard day of work to do my standard check of The Escapist. That being said, I don't mind it thus far. I guess we should be thankful for the new badge slot...?

When i first saw it, i thought i was redirected to a xbox live forum or something, until i saw the URL.

While i do like Metro and how Microsoft is making things more clean, the look doesn't quite fit the Escapist.

It is practical, but it needs getting used to.

I like it. It fits with windows 8 metro theme, and it's alot more airy.

I like it, it's just a lot more open, the thick grey bars are a bit bland though.
But Jack, if you're going to make a thread like this please at least add some criticism other than "weirder-looking".

That would be perfect. A dark to medium blue with slightly thinner bar.

Just another reason I can't wait to go back to uni, back to using my own computer.

Shrinking the display on this one is out of the question, which sucks because this update makes everything look too chunky.

I think it needs more contrast. They should make the bars blue again so it's easier to read.

Oh yeah, it definitely needs some colour on these bars. I think there needs to be a line or something in-between the number of the post and the date as well.

No more background colour problems though, I'm good. Oh wait, it goes back to white as soon as it's refreshed. Also, I want it to change all my other pages when refreshed.
