While I don't know the full origin to Doomsday (I skipped the bits before the battle) but I did read the DC encyclopedia that he was made by being killed over and over to the point he just adapt to anything (and he's immortal). That alone made me think he would win and he did. So yeah I can understand why he won.
Granted I didn't know Hulk can bleed or rather can get his skin pierce. I just view the Hulk as the movie version now whose rarely bleed.
DC's biggest heavy is an alien with super strength, flight, and heat vision. In Marvel, a hero with that exact powerset was beaten in a NY mall by a kid from Kansas. And yea, the Hulk can bleed. It's kinda a thing whenever he was used for huge battles that Damage Control would have to mop up after him so that some low level mad scientist wouldn't get a drop of the stuff and suddenly have the power to create something earth-shattering.
I don't exactly agree with this outcome. One of the latest iterations of the Hulk was Hulk on an updated Extremis formula that upped his strength while keeping Banner in full control. This formula was specifically created so that Hulk couldn't just beat Iron Man but revel in it after he learned Tony tampered with the gamma bomb. In his Doc Green persona, he could invent a way to kill Doomsday or at least imprison him longterm. With the number of Hulks running around, there's always contingencies for these creatures.
