Crappy title, I couldn't think of anything else to go with this really.

Ok so, let's say you been playing a game and you got stuck on that one part that's just hard/annoying/won't let you win and you decided to stop playing.
The later on or something, you start up where you left off and all of a sudden through sheer dumb luck or good skill, you pass where you were stuck. Come on, it happens some times.

How about you share some of your recent ones.

For me, it was today, I had played SRW@Gaiden a few weeks back and was trying to do a hard mode run, in order to do so, I have to keep collecting skill points.
Mission 8, defeat the boss in order to collect the skill point, allowing him to run won't net it though.
He runs around 7500 hp, to which I was able to widdle him down to near that and had my two strongest units support each other to defeat him, which were Getter Robo and the Argama ship.
Shine Spark and lasers...left the guy with around 200 or 500. Reload, try again, and repeat, and decided to give up.
Had no choice to play again today since I couldn't just listen to the same part of Hagane No Messiah over and over again in the car. Continue where I was, use Shine Spark...Instant 7800 Critical...Just pure luck...Let's hope it continues.

Sorry about the long explanation, but I was so surprised today.

So everyone? What were one of your...recent one of these?
Want to share it.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance comes to mind. I was on Operation: MIND GAMES in the campaign (Second last mission). It drops you, with nothing but your ACU,in the MIDDLE OF ENEMY TERRITORY. Your enemies have fully functional bases. And right from the get-go,they're throwing units at you. First few tries,I don't last any longer than five minutes, because of gunship raids.

So I stop playing.

One month later,I come back, load my campaign, and suddenly I'm putting out Sky Boxers before the first gunship raid. I was like "How did I find this hard?" And then I beat the campaign. Final mission was kind enough to start you off with a Colossus.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Im about half way though the campaign in Heroes 6, but those types of game, I love them but they are so long and you have to worry about your rear so much that I have to take breaks between playing it.

Metal Gear solid 2, as a 10 year old I couldn't beat it. But when I went t back to it a year later I beat it and it became one of my favorite ps2 games. That was when I stepped it up as a kid and became a gamer.
I miss being a kid.

The forest level in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It's the only forced stealth level in the entire game and you get an instant game over if certain guards spot you. I'd given up on it after countless attempts (including trying to copy walkthroughs I'd watched on Youtube), then went back to it about 3 years later and beat it on the first attempt.

Still no idea how I did it though.

Crysis 1. Couldn't get past that part where there's the KPA base on top of that plateau by the river, and a helicopter patrolling around it. Had run out of rockets, and had to use all my ammo to take down the chopper otherwise. Ended up leaving, getting a better computer, coming back and playing it, and devastating that chopper.
Other than that? There have been a couple I couldn't beat when I was 5, and tried again now and got through them like I would a FPS match with Godmode and auto aim on. I was going to do that for more of my old games, but they're not running on Windows 7, and not even compatibility mode fixes it :(

The way I played Portal 2. Get frustrated, stop playing for a few hours and think it over. Then poof! it's easy.
