Delete my account

Ok, so I decided that I no longer want this account and went to delete it.

Then after doing some forum and google searching I discovered I do not have the personal ability to do this.

I tried searching through the modding community, but there didn't seem to be any definitive place to get this fixed; it was just confusing links with no real end location.

It seems absolutely absurd that I can't delete my own account. One of the forums stated that posting offensive content and getting banned is a pretty darn effective way to do this, but I think I'd rather not do that.

Is there a real definitive path to getting my account removed without resulting to the above?

even doing that will just get you banned, but the account remains.

Why not just log out?
Ah, that's right. I'd forgotten it works that way in particular.

But does it matter why? It doesn't seem like wanting to delete an account is too much to ask.

There is something about deleting an account that screws up the entire forum source code. I don't know the particulars I just know that it has been mentioned a few times by the tech team.

Turn off all the notifications, log out and say goodbye. That's your best option

it just seems like a non-issue really. It's not like your username is your real name and your transitioning or the like.

Like others have suggested, the best option is to simply log out and not return to it.
