First thread, be gentle.

Assuming everyone on the Escapist doesn't just surf the forums looking for ways to increase their post counts and goes outside every once in a while, you've all probably done something as a team/group/collective with other individuals. Unless you were of no feasible use or generally brought everyone down, you contributed something to whatever it is that you were doing.

What part are do you play in an activity involving teamwork?

As an example: I've been playing in a recreational soccer league for the past 4 years, and every year, I've been the spearhead of our defense. Super skilled guy walking through our players? They send me in. Fast guy who no one could catch? I'm on him. Every coach I've known has praised me for my determinator-like aggression. While I'm not particularly that good, if you have the ball, and I'm infront of you, YOU SHALL NOT PASS. Or atleast if, you get by me, I will hound you until you either A) Screw up and lose the ball or B) Realize that I'm on your ass like a painful hemorrhoid and pass the ball away, buying us some time.

Post any examples if you wish!

Well in Basketball I'm amazing at getting the ball from the other team.

Thats about it though... I'm not so good at sports.

Jack of all trades, master of none
Call me Jack

Otherwise, I do as I am told by the one I choose as "Boss", or whatever anyone in my team says

Basically 'Follower'

It doesn't HAVE to be sports. Are you the best sniper out of all you're friends? Are you the guy suicide bombing with C4? You can post any example.

Uh well, I guess when playing football(soccer) I can sort of defend, I'm good at finding space to be passed to when in midfield/upfront, and I'm a decent striker. So, I don't know really since I don't play for a team because I can't be bothered finding one.

Well, in real life, when I had to do football when at school *RAGE* (I dislike football/soccer/foot-meets-inflated-pigs-bladder), I used to take one of the 'defender' roles. I think I was normally on the right-hand side. I just had to rush at the person invading...
Easy enough. Even though they normally had the biggest guy in the class on their team... I took him down a few times. The quiet kid that hated sports, taking down the juggernaut... pah.
I hate football/soccer/foot-meets-inflated-pigs-bladder.

Or, if you count videogames:
I may take a sniper role. Or an assault... hell, I take any role. Doesn't matter.

I'm generally the guy the rest of the team has do everything because he is amazing. I generally avoid team activities, because a team is only as good as it's weakest link.

In games, I'm the Medic. I keep my men alive goddammit!

Actually in sports I sometimes take on a similar role of supporter or wingman.

Although I do lead occasionally

In a combat squad, I'm always a scout/marksmen. I was the best shot in my unit in the military, and when I play an FPS (such as MAG), I excel with any scoped weapon and communications. Calling out enemy movement and position while taking care of opposing snipers or high value targets.

And heaven forbid I have access to squad abilities in Mag to call in air strikes and support.

EDIT: On the flip side, don't expect me to be able to run commando style. I can't knife for shit, and using a simple assault rifle in most games gets me killed about as much as it gets kills for me.

Depends on the activity really. I've always been a solid defenseman in hockey, a mid-fielder in football, a right fielder in baseball (and last in the batting order), a power forward in basketball, and the anchor in bowling. In sports games, I'm usually the support guy like a point guard in basketball or the left winger in hockey. In shooters I'm proudly the decoy, running in with guns blazing and hucking grenades. When I'm on a team that doesn't involve sports (like a small group in the workplace), I'm the guy proposing alternate solutions to problems, motivating teammates, and getting shit done. As an added bonus I have thrown a couple of parties for my teammates if we accomplish our tasks in an extraordinary way.

I'm the guy who does all the heavy lifting, and, Gamewise, the guy with the biggest and most cumbersome weapon.

I'm in net in football, I keep the defense composed and prevent goals. In rugby i'm shit I play center (next to wing) and... you know what? I don't know. Stand there. Run. Get hurt like fuck. Start again. I'm also quite fast, but my health related problems keep appearing and screwing up my sports schedule.
