First of all, I'm a really chill dude I don't care what people think of me, I enjoy the odd, eccentric, and exotic, but I have no self consciousness. Tonight I came into the acquisition of some cobalt hair dye, I currently have white hair, and its down to my shoulders. Is fun hair a turn off for chicks, and do other guys consider it unfashionable / "Gay"? I like blue, and don't care how others perceive me, but I don't want to seem like I'm something I'm not, or look like I'm trying to grab attention, ideas for hair in the future and is this cobalt good or bad?

Sounds like you do care what other people think of you, even if you don't believe it for whatever reason.

If you really didn't care you would just by budget brand clothes, keep your hair natural and unwashed and forget to shave frequently.

And get no girls.

In terms of girls, you're turning off a huge majority of them, but remember that there will always be someone, somewhere that will like it. The same thing applies to guys; the major will think it's unfashionable, a small minority of them will think it's great.

People are social and are constantly aware of the perceptions of others (you asking us this question means you're aware). People fall under norms to better fit into a social environment. How you take that is up to you, and obviously that's not you. I guess that's the way things are

Hang on.

I'm getting a pretty strong "I don't care what people think about me, as long as they are thinking about me vibe" which is fine, just.. It's different to "I don't care what people think about me"

Pretty much what Mr. Puzzles said.

I always felt unnatural hair colors looked weird on people, this includes blonde minorities.

If you're doing it for style then (and asking an anonymous mass of internet users for their opinion no less) then you are doing it for attention. One can deny it but when I consulted my Magic 8-Ball it agreed with my assessment.

With that out of the way, odd hair color choices are rarely considered "gay" by most people I know (and those who would consider it as such generally think anything out of the norm might be a sign of at least "switch hitting"). Going with a color that doesn't exist naturally among our species it does strike me as a desperate grab for attention (even if it may be negative) and this would tend to sway my opinion of such a person towards the negative. Simply put, if someone trys that hard to be noticed by their appearance (the same goes with any outlandish style choice), they are going to have to work a bit harder to convince me that they are actually worthy of my taking notice of them. It's not a narcistic thing; instead, I have to assume based on past experience that such people are often trying to compensate for some social deficiency or another.

With regards to the color, cobalt blue is a nice color and if one could achieve a good even dye (I have no idea how difficult such a thing is, but if you're starting from white/platinum hair then I suspect the hard part has been done already) it could certainly be a striking and eye catching color. However, both the hair length and the color suggest something a bit too feminine for my own tastes. As such, rather than having long hair I'd suggest a shorter length that is better suited for styling. I'm not suggesting a part (though the juxtaposition of outlandish color with conservative style is actually amusing to me) or anything like that, just something more overtly masculine. Depending upon dress style and body type you could easily be mistaken for a female from certain angles and distances - and that is almost assuredly going to come with accusations of homosexuality. There are plenty of examples of hair style that go well with bright, non natural hues but most of them would aestetically place you as one of the punk crowd.

I can agree with this but it seems that the OP's goal is to look wierd (and thus attract attention). My own view extends beyond unnatural colors - certain hues do the same. While there may be a handful of natural platinum blondes, the color is more than a little jarring. The same goes with red hair, and while I have seen some intense shades of natural red many color treatments take it well beyond a natural shade.
