I was watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya so I can complete a list of 75 animes. The endless eight is a series of episodes where time loops a bunch of times.I want to know if anyone was actually capable of watching it without skipping through them.

I had four hours of spare time So I gave myself a headache and watched them all without stopping.

I'd watch them if I could. I don't have the time to devote, nor the desire to watch it online.

From what I remember at Comic-Con, the DVD only does one of the standard episodes. Wonder if they'll include the other seven as a bonus feature...

I liked Haruhi, but not enough to suffer through the same episode almost 8 times in a row.

So wait, I don't get it, it just plays the same episode 8 times and considers that to be 8 separate episodes? Sounds pretty lazy to me. If hypothetically I liked anime and wanted to watch that show, I would probably only watch one.

2-3 of them would be worth watching. The first couple, then the last one as they break out of the time loop.

They did however, redraw and animate each one. Not like that helps much. Just goes from lazy to wasteful.

While i hate to admit it, i did.

i didnt know they were going to be the same each time, and well i was just waiting for the difference.

There was a subtle differences each time in each one mind you, but i have seen better time paradox story's ALLOT BETTER.

but it does achieve what most don't (and this is a good thing).

it makes you desperate (as the characters are) for the paradox to end, i dont really know how to describe it adequately, so that will have to do.

I never watched it, but I heard it was bad.
I only watched the first episode of season 2, and the movie, which was awesome and I recommend everyone who remotely likes Haruhi to watch it.

Freaking Haruhi suzumiya....

I watch ONE anime (gurren lagann) and now my Otaku friend is telling me to watch everything from Naruto to Haruhi Suzumiya. I finished the first episode of the latter a month ago and haven't touched it since. Is it any good?
It gets good. It's just slice of life with a twist.

I watched all of them. I also watched every episode of Naruto's year of filler. If I bother to watch something I'll generally stick with that choice and watch it all.

Yes, keep in mind the first episode is supposed to be bad. I was skeptical until I realized that, then I loved it.

As for his recommending Naruto, I find that odd; the only reason many anime fans pay attention to it is to make fun of the more poorly-drawn frames.

On topic, I watched 4-5 episodes out of love for the first season and desperate hope, then I said screw it and watched the remainder of Gurren Lagann, a much better way to spend my time.

Unfortunately, not quite. I managed to choke down the first seven, but even the knowledge that it would end with the next one (and something would FINALLY FUCKING HAPPEN!) wasn't enough to make me watch it. By that stage, I was just broken- Endless Eight had simply destroyed utterly my will to watch the series, even after it ended. It's the stupidest, lamest, most ridiculous mistake any animation studio has ever made and I just can't get over how bad it is.

Seriously, it wouldn't have been so bad if they'd at least ACTED on what Yuki was saying (that the endless loops they're passing through are NOT all identical) and at least done different events in each episode, but despite wasting all the budget on reanimating and revoicing the entire episode each time they still did almost EXACTLY THE SAME THINGS IN EACH EPISODE. Endless Eight was a stupid idea to begin with (it was a SINGLE CHAPTER STORY in the original novel!) and they compounded it by doing it really BADLY.

Additionlly, the next arc was Sighs, which I didn't find at all interesting. Where the hell was Snow Mountain Syndrome?!

Yup pretty much this, the redraw things arent worth it at all, I was so pissed when I had to wait like 8 weeks for that arc to be over :(

I knew intuitively that the first episode was meant to parody other anime (speaking of anime parodies, this is hilarious and you will watch it NOW [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CLgpd241Aw]). I just didn't understand the point of it. I know the story's supposed to get better, I just got consumed by Gurren Lagann (Long Live Team Dai-Gurren) at the time when Haruhi was reccommended to me.
Yeah, Egoraptor's pretty awesome alright.

As for the overall story of Haruhi, it's kind of in a conundrum between exploring the concepts implications and showing its results, mainly because said results are high school faffing-about (basically, it's a lighter deconstruction of high-school comedy/romance anime, partly through explaining why all these unusual people and events congregate near the protagonists). Personally, I think it's awesome in doing both. Also, there's further context for the student film, but it's stuck in the second season/light novel.

I don't blame you for getting consumed by Gurren Lagann, however.

I got through the first 13 episodes or so of the first season and never bothered with the franchise again. It was alright, but I fail to see the reason behind people foaming at the mouth whenever it's so much as mentioned.

Actually, saying that I never bothered with the franchise again would be a lie, as I did download a translated version of the first novel, it was alright, but I, again, failed to see the reason behind it's rampant popularity.

Four times. Once for the first time. Twice because I felt bad for my avatar. Three times because of the English dub. Four times for bragging rights, not that it's really something to brag about.

I rather like Endless Eight. It seems to me like an experiment playing with your head. "Wait, are we on 5? No no no, this is 6. Oww, my head. Hey, it's over! Yay!" That is the average reaction.

I would rather have Endless Eight be what it is and have The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya be a movie than have the Disappearance just be part of season 2 which is precisely why Endless Eight is eight episodes long.

Damn. Good. Movie.
