YES YES YES DO IT CAPCOM!!!!!

Dino Crisis 2 is still fun as hell:

And this is a case where I don't mind the game being in third person over the shoulder or First Person.

Or if the game is gonna be Survival Horror oriented like Dino Crisis 1 or Action oriented like Dino Crisis 2.

Yes please!

I never got to play DC2 but the first one was great and there are not nearly enough video games with dinosaurs in it.

With a Resident Evil 4 type overhaul, I could see it working for the new generation. Maybe add a sprinkle of Alien Isolation AI to feel hunted by the raptors and you've got some real scares with your action too.

I'm guessing they noticed the giant robot dinosaurs in Horizon Zero Dawn getting a neat reception, upon which a rusty old cog creakily started turning within the half-stagnated mind of one of the producers until the spoken aloud thought struck that "hey, people actually like awesome fights with intimidating, towering ancient beasts! We have an IP with some of those, don't we Bromwell? ...Bromwell?? Oh right, he left last year. Of course. Do I still have a secretary then?"

I loved Dino Crisis 2 and would certainly like to see a proper sequel to it. That said, depending on what 'direction' such a potential sequel/reboot goes could either make or break my hype.

It should be in first person otherwise we will witness gears of war with dinosuars. and will include wall cover.

That would only be the case if they include shooting at goons with guns.

Other wise it will be more like RE 6 if they include Third Person.

I think I only ever played a demo of the original and it seemed like they took the T-Rex encounter from Tomb Raider, sprinkled on some RE formula and made a game around it. It didn't grab me originally because it basically felt like RE swapped zombies for dinos, which should be cool but it felt kinda meh at the time. Guess I was spoiled by Jurassic Park. Zombies were so much easier to render effectively even back then.

But if they did something like this now, and did it "right", then we might have something remarkable.

The first is basically RE with dinosaurs, the second is much more arcadey (scoring system relying on combos, shop based upgrade system, turret sections) though with the same basic controls and engine (played both as pc ports with a gamepad, and had a good time).

Not played the third, but it killed the franchise which should tell you enough.

Definitely would like more, at least so long as they bring Regina back.

I don't know... Has anyone here played Dino Crisis 3?
Because it tried to modernize Dino Crisis 2 and it was kind of shieeeeet
They messed up royally with that one. I'm not surprised it killed it. Hell, bar having dino's in it I don't think it was even tangentially related to the first two games.

A proper sequel would be pretty awesome. I only played a bit of the first one and it really was just RE with dino's, but the more arcadey and action focused 2 was a PS1 classic for me. It's still enjoyable to this day too, as I replayed it in the past year.

I definitely don't want it to be a shooter, like most of Capcom's survival horrors. Dinosaurs aren't that strong. It should be more a third-person survival and exploration game with Lost World: Jurassic Park-like environments.
Kind of like Tresspasser, but actually finished and not a buggy mess?

Since the original game was basically a reskin of Resident Evil I can only hope they incorporate the "modern gameplay" of RE4 rather than RE6.
