Disney Paints a Collector's Edition for Epic Mickey

An early retail listing has revealed a planned Collector's Edition for Junction Point Studios' Disney Epic Mickey.

A listing over on the Disney Epic Mickey [http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4452560] Collector's Edition that will launch alongside the regular version. Mickey fans will no doubt be forced to shell out a couple more sawbucks for this new edition, as it'll contain a few exclusive mouse-themed goodies.

The best part of the Epic Mickey Collector's Edition is a five-inch tall Mickey figurine that definitely isn't of Wii Remote [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102942-Spector-Denies-Focus-Group-Inspired-Epic-Mickey-Removal] faceplate splashed with Mickey paint, and Wii console skins splashed with Mickey paint. You would think painting is a theme in the game or something.

Sadly, that's basically it. Toys R Us has the Epic Mickey Collector's Edition listed for $69.99, which isn't a bad deal for a little Mickey figurine and some skins, but it feels a little skimpy after Editions [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102304-LittleBigPlanet-2-May-Have-the-Best-Collectors-Edition-Ever] that we've been spoiled with lately. Still, it's not bad, I guess.

Disney Epic Mickey will be released exclusively on the for now [http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Sports-Resort-Black-Nintendo/dp/B003EH0BQ4/ref=sr_tr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1283141041&sr=8-1]) and is expected to hit stores this holiday season.

Looks awesome. Too bad I don't have a Wii. Gotta love Collector's Editions.

As far as collector's editions go, this isn't bad, but I don't think I'd pay extra for the wii skins, maybe if it had a statuette or something, I'd buy.

Why haven't you guys reported the Gran Turismo Signature Edition yet [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.223507-Sony-Announces-Gran-Turismo-5-Signature-Edition]? It blows holes in most collector's editions announced thus far. To be fair, I think it's only being released in Europe and Australia, but hell, you can win a f***king Mercedez-Benz.

I find it odd that this collector's edition gets called "not bad" at best, "skimpy" at worst. Yet this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103082-Enslaved-Wants-to-Own-Your-Wallet-With-Its-Collectors-Edition] will apparently own our wallets?

I'm assuming its just due to differing preferences between the two article's writers. Personally I see the figurine and Wii skins as something a little more different, compared to the standard soundtrack/artbook that comes with just about every collector's edition.

While I am intrigued by the the figurine and the dvd, the total package itself looks rather bland, even if it is an extra $20 more.

However, if they throw in an artbook before the release date, then color me very interested indeed.

Yes, we aren't a collective mind like the Borg, yet.

I can't believe they're calling it Epic Mickey. It just seems so trite - until now I was under the impression that it was just a codename, much like Project Dolphin for the Gamecube.

I wouldn't charge more than £40 for it in the UK, since it's a simple skins+DVD+figurine deal.

How is it trite? Sure Mickey Mouse hasn't been epic in a while, but this game promises (and looks like) a return to epicness that Mickey hasn't had in years. Plus, in this game, you can make Mickey an Anti-Hero! How is that not awesome?

Actually, that's not bad. For 70 bucks? Yeah, that's actually a bargain. I'm getting the regular version myself, but maybe if there's some still available, I'd probably get it.

Haha I love this, maybe for Gears of War 3 we can just splash blood on, CD's, Controllers, and we can even have a figure of Carmine getting eatin by white blood cells! :D! But really, couldn't they have more of a creative idea?

I'm interested. $69.99 is the same price you pay for the regular versions of some games. It's almost like they're actually giving us free stuff we can use.

Thank you. I did not know that.
