Umm...I really want to help but I don't think I will be of much help. It sounds like one of those "story first" games, where narrative IS the game, kinda like Heavy Rain.

Which brings me to guess it's Indigo Prophecy? It's made by the same developers and it was for the PS2...but the rest doesn't add up.
