I know that downloadable content is still a rather loaded topic. However, I'm fine shelling out a few bucks to get some solid new content. Examples might include a new campaign or a new adventure module.

However, there's some DLC that I think is just unacceptable. Case in point - Bioware is offering a new "party pack" for Dragon Age to celebrate their 15th anniversary. The pack includes gifts you can give your NPC allies. Is this dubious content a free gift to loyal Bioware fans after more than a decade of buying their games? Of course not.

The new MW2 map pack.

15 dollars for 3 new maps (which I doubt I would like) and 2 recycled ones? No thanks.

Operation Anchorage (Fallout 3)

Worst Idea is to throw away the role playing from an RPG and just leave massive combat. Took me a long time to get back to Fallout 3 because I couldn't bring myself to play that DLC.

The Prince of Persia Epilogue.
I liked the game, but I'm not paying extra to find out what happens at the end.

Any DLC released with simultaneously with a game. (IE the ME2 Normandy Crash Site DLC. It would just feel like they released an incomplete game without that one.)

Any DLC is pure evil if you have to pay for it. I ALREADY BOUGHT YOUR FOUR HUNDRED RAND GAME! That's fifty dollars to everyone who doesn't study world economics...

Seriously, why do companies do this, they already have a money pile as high as K2, why deplete our pockets further and hide the game we paid for from us.

All DLC is deviant and should be annihilated.

Dead Space has DLC?

Guess I've gotta start the purging early...*pulls out oversized alien gun with the words "do not fire directly at ground" written on it and screams "Cthulhu would be proud!"*

The end.

Bloody map pack for the new AVP. Seriously 4 maps for multiplayer for 6 euros. It already takes ages to find a large enough group to play with cause the online community is close to dead. Let alone with some exclusive maps only 10% of the players have. That's like having a cup of water, naming one of the water molecules "Steve", then tossing the cup into the ocean, wait 3 months and try to find Steve again. You'd have more chance of finding Steve than you would have finding a full party on those maps.

Here's another one. I like the Total War series and love what the mod community has done with earlier series. Suddenly, Creative Assembly decides to publish Empire and Napoleon Total War through Steam. Then they start offering DLC "special" units that modders used to be able to make for free.

I agree with everyone else that pay-to-play maps in games like MW2 are stupid. Then again, I'm not sure if modders can make their own maps for that game. If not, it's yet another example of developers keeping total control for their own enrichment.

The Mercenaries 2 dlc, mainly because it didn't work. Far Cry 2 dlc, cause the game it self sucked and I never got a chance to fully enjoy what I purchased.

On a side note, I don't see why the hell people complain about DLC. It is not mandatory to purchase, it is not necessary to get the full game experience. If you don't like it or want it shut up and don't buy it. If you want it, buy it, download it, talk about it, and enjoy it. It's that simple.

I'm not sure if this counts, but Perfect Dark off the XBL Marketplace. Just because it won't work for me >.>

Other than that I'd agree with the Horse Armour and the new MW2 maps. Avatar items. Don't even get me started on that "content"!

Agreed. One of the reasons I'm done with Call of Duty now. I like some DLC (mostly the stuff that's free) but most of the time I just don't bother with it.

I despise multiplayer-only DLC, like maps and stuff, as it tends to be severely overpriced.

If the DLC extends the single-player campaign, then I'm usually fine with it. Case in point: the added campaigns for Fear 2, Valkyria Chronicles and Red Faction. Cheap and with great content.

I like DLC because it's a nice surprise. I'm a PC gamer and all the DLC for Valve games is free to my knowledge. Especially all the updates for TF2, they're still updating the game and adding new items 6 years after it was released, and all of it is free (for PC).

I've heard this several times, can you explain this to me please?
