That's the link for the trailer if you have not seen it yet.
I have been playing devil may cry since the beginning.
I even stood up and defended DMC2 even thought it was the worse of them all.
I Have watched this trailer about 10 times and I still don't know what to think.
I want to see more but at the same time it looks like they have changed everything about the devil may cry universe.
Anyone else concerned that ninja theory might ruin one of the best "kill the entire army of hell with the best show boating of all time" games?

Already been plenty of threads on this topic, but I share the same sentiments as you, OP.

While I want there to be more DMC games, this one looks just overall, changed a bit too much.

The character of Dante himself, the world, the demons, the art style. All of it seems too different.

Though, I'm open to change and I'd like to see where they go with this.

I love devil may cry through and through. im not exactly -happy- about the changes they made, but im sure they can't mess it up THAT badly. I mean, its ALL there for them in terms of character personality. exempting DMC2, dante's personality has been pretty consistent.

I'll see where the game takes his character, and I hope i'll end up liking it. if not, DMC 1,3, and 4 if I get really bored are a disc away

I don't like the series, but my best friend and the girl I fancy adore it, and they are pissed. Like, ridiculously upset about the changes. They're both being reasonable and are going to wait on more footage to make any decisive calls, but at this moment, they're furious. And I can't blame them. I don't think it looks good either.

Well I kind of like the whole punk-rock serious tone of the game more than the feel I got from DMC4. Although, in my opinion, DMC4 was the best in the series, the story felt like that of a bad Japanese Anime. The Gothic environments were starting to get a bit tired out as well for me, because there is an air of sameness that morphs into blandness. At least with the underground punk rock feel, we can get darker tones in a more modern setting which could breath life into a franchise that is starting to stagnate.

What's really important though is the combat, as long as they don't fuck that up, I'll be alright with the game
