I just moved from my shoebox to a slightly bigger two story shoebox and me and my boyfriend found it nice to inventorise our toy collection while packing.

We own about 230 my little ponies (my main collection) about 200 transformers (his main collection), about 8 different consoles with decent library for each, not including handhelds, and two big boxes of random toys going from Kamen rider action figures to game memorabilia)

So, yeah, we have a lot of toys and games which we've been collecting since we were kids. Do any of you have any cool, weird, quirky or downright awesome collections?

Not weird, quirky or particularly awesome, but I am gradually creating a very large collection of books, simply through purchasing my module texts for university (I study English) and casually finding items I like. Currently have ~300 books.

Dust.

I used to collect Eeyores, but when I moved I had no where to put them so I stopped collecting them. I suppose I also "collect" books, but I see a collection as something you try to complete and I buy books for the pleasure of reading them and often will donate a bunch I won't read again.

I don't/can't collect things. I've got a very powerful visual memory so when I see things once I can replicate them mentally, removing the desire to "collect" it in my mind for future prosterity. I've just never had an interest in collecting things. That and poverty.

I used to collect several Hot Wheels, Micro Machines, model planes, Lego sets, and trading cards of all kinds when I was much younger.

Nowadays, I just purchase a few Yu-Gi-Oh! cards from time to time to improve and tweak my decks.

I'm also an avid Transformers collector myself. Not sure exactly how many I've got (I haven't counted in quite awhile), but it's probably around 200 as well.

Anything Hello Kitty is usually snapped up by me. It's the go-to present when people buy me gifts so I've got a pretty big collection.
I also have a fairly small (around 35) amount of comic books.

I'll collect anything generally if it's cute.

I've got a huge manga collection with hundreds and hundreds of books. I've also got a small collection of books signed by the wrong writer, like a copy of The Invisible Man signed by Dan Abnett.

Video games, like variation and finding lost gems in the obscurity. Books as well, currently building my own private library. Warhammer if I got the time and money for it, like the converting and painting parts. Swords, because swords are awesome. Music, because freaking Metal. Sex toys, why the hell not? Appearently old school board games, the real deal such as chess, go, mahjong etc.

Would like to have some old school guns as well, more precisely muskets, arqebusiers, calviners, etc. A bit complicated to get the licenses though. A fair chance of getting a crossbow license on the other hand, one of the fencing instructors are considering getting one and we can get the fencing union accepted for sports shooting as well since we are involved in historical reenactment.

I have amassed quite an eclectic mix of books, video games and DVD's over the years. I used to collect Pokemon cards as a child, but I eventually gave them all away or sold them, but I can't bear to part with my books and video games as some of them hold quite a few fond childhood memories, and certain books and video games I come back to on a yearly basis.

Does a house and back patio full of potted plants count? I love growing things. I love watching something grow and seeing how they change day to day.

The smell of my apple mint plant, or the miniature cedar tree (it's only about 5x5 inches, so cute!) or our three Schlumbergera plants (Christmas Cactus') two have pink flowers, one white. One's a cutting off our mother's plant that's nearly 100 now, and in a week we're inheriting our mother's hoya plant that's closer to 150 I think. And then we have plenty more plants around the house.

I have a jade plant that I adore, it's just so chubby and cute. Our aunt gave us one she'd had in her office for years, it's kinda a vine and growing quite well.

And the gryphon begonia I bought two years ago is only supposed to reach 15 inches tall. It's four feet and growing, except we trim it down. If we don't it gets about four feet wide too, it's a freaking tree.

And that's not even all the indoor plants.

I got a dragon begonia this summer, but yesterday I noticed it drooping. By now it's basically crawled out of the pot and is hanging over the edge, I don't think I can save it.

The 3 tomatoe plants, zucchini, carrots and lettuce are all doing well outside, as is the butterfly flower thing, and the red thing with pink flowers, and the fuchsia looks healthy but isn't growing.

Yeah, I think my sister and I have a problem. We collect too many plants.

I've actually managed to build up a decent collection of plushie animals. I don't really collect them as a hobby, it's just that whenever I see a really cool toy for sale somewhere that I can afford, I have to get it. Some of the standouts of my collection include:

-My pink fetus plushie, that I actually had custom-made by someone on devientArt.

-A blue-footed booby.

-A weird chompy bat head thing. It's technically a Batman toy, but it looks like it should be a Digimon.

-A bat-shaped backpack.

-A creepy, deranged-looking Toto plushie that I got from a Halloween store. It has shark teeth, and when you stand it up on all fours, it looks like it's trying to pee on something because one of the back legs is sewn on at a weird angle.

-A Minecraft Creeper.

-An Angry Bird.

-A little pink squid plushie.

-A big lime green squid hat.

-A hand-sewn, diamond-patterned snake toy that looks like it's made out of a sock. It has a jingle bell in it's tail, and button eyes that make it look like some sort of frog-snake.

-A Chinese dragon.

Edit. I forgot a couple:

-My watch lizard. It's just a derpy orange lizard toy I won at an arcade, but I put it to work by strapping a wristwatch to it so I could keep it in my bag and use it to tell the time.

-My black Ice Bat, who I actually keep in the freezer, since that's where the tag says he lives.

Not really a collection, but I raise insects and plants to go with them. Honey bees, praying mantises, ladybugs. I also used to be a bit of a rock hound as a kid. No POGS though, although my brother was a fanatic for them.

ONLY THE SKULLS OF MY ENEMIES. -Cough-

In all seriousness, nothing really. I have a-lot of interests, though I don't really have a want to collect objects. Well, besides owning quite a few shirts from websites like Shirt.Woot

Technically I could say UK gamer magazines and demo's, my parents used to buy them for me like every month, ever since the PSX generation. I probably have around 1000, PSX, PS2, XBOX and 360 mags and demo's stuffed into two of my wardrobe draws.

I just never seemed to throw them away, but it's not like I actually properly collected them, I don't know what issue numbers I have or anything.

Other than that ... no collecting.
