Were they on the money? Was Memory Lane more of a Repression Alley? How many rumours eventually turned into reality?
I have a couple of old Videogame Magazines from the time before widespread internet and it's fun to read through on the John. Especially the super hyped up previews for games which turned out to be forgotten to the annals of time.
Like in EGM where they spent an entire issue paying lip-service to the voice controlled RTS World at War only to give the game an average of C- when it came out. Or how one magazine talked about how much they're looking forward to the below mediocre Marvel Nemesis:Rise of the imperfects.
