I would rather not have to die a painful or traumatic death, but I don't fear death itself. Death will just be a new beginning.

Yes.
I have decided that there is nothing past this world.
It all just ends.
And then, in a few generations, everything about you is forgotten.
Even your direct descendants won't remember your name.
Thats why I decided I was going to be someone big.
I'm going to be a president, and I am going to either start or end a big war, or make first contact.
Something big. I want to be remembered thousands of years into the future.

No. I never think of death being an optimistic. I only think of death in games.

I dont fear my death so much as i fear the pain that will be associated with it. Thats what would get me, is having to lie their dying knowing that this pain, when it's gone, will be the last thing i would have felt.

After that only the dead truly know what happens.

But everything dies, its a natural outcome of life.

Different situations cause different outlooks, my attitude towards death is it happens to everyone, so I'm ready whenever, but when a car is careening at me, I'm too wide eyed to think about anything.

It's not death itself I fear. I fear an end, a non-existence. It just happens that death represents that.

No. I don't fear death. Or the motions associated with death.

I just hate the thought of someone killing me for no reason. It bugs the shit out of me.

No, death is a friend of mine. we hang out all the time.
I enjoy this. Reminds me of that movie, Meet Joe Black. Not the best movie to be sure, but definitely up there. Anyway, I think it would be quite nice to know the Reaper on a first name kind of personal basis, I think it would be really comforting ^_^ /ramble
But what if he's a total dick?
Good point. I think I have enough faith in the thousands of years that he's had to grow up that I don't believe that he'd be a dick.

ACH! this thread again. I'll say it again NO. What is to fear about having no conscience? It's not like you can suffer.

Hard question to answer, I mean if I sit and think about the concept of death and what happens after yeah I do feel some fear, but I push that subject out of my mind. Do I fear it on a day to day basis? No.

I regret not having said or done certain things, but I think the worst part of death is that it's so definite; Death is the conclusion to a book you can't really change.

I don't fear death at all. I just sometimes wish things had turned out differently. But I feel slightly better when I realize that we're all just meandering through life and nothing really matters. Oh, and I guess in a parallel universe I'm banging both the girls I fell for last year. XD (if they exist)

I wasn't bothered by being dead before I existed, I shall not be bothered by it when I cease to exist again.

So, no.

Yes, I don't want to die purely because I don't believe in an after life and I love life right now. Not existing is one of my biggest fears.

I'm not frightened of dying,
Any time will do, I don't mind.
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it,
you've got to go sometime.

Of course, Pink Floyd didn't write anything about not being afraid of being dead. I'm not worried about the dying process, as I'll probably go out memorably, but I'm terrified of being dead.
