I was playing Bioshock and Bioshock 2
(yes i know that they came out ages ago but i only just got them)and i found that no matter what i said or did, i could not kill the little sisters so now i have a weakness for little girls.I would like to know has anyone else found something that in a game that you could not kill?

My morals are entirely liver-derived.

But yes, unless it's a 4X/grand strategy game, I can't bring myself to do anything wrong. Can't even be rude to an NPC.

The first time that decision hit me, I just couldn't bring myself to kill her. It was a very well constructed scene.

I felt harvesting the Little Sister in Bioshock, and I only did it a few times by accident. In any other game, I don't really care what I do. I hogtied a few people in Red Dead Redemption and left them on train tracks to watch them get run over...

As much as I tell myself that it is just a game I can't be the chaotic evil or completely selfish character. It does bother me that when I make the pragmatic choice that games often react to that as being evil.

yeah. in situations i've just been completely unable to kill innocents in any way. i don't quite hold anything to myself, the games being fiction and all. and there are times that i just kill for pure joy...kinda like dolphins.

idc if it's random NPC #892, where all they do is walk in and out of this door to the blacksmith and back, if we are both about to go through the door or certain area, i am going to politely move to the side and let them continue on their path.

judging by that...you can see what i do in most games i play.

Yeah, but then if I get pissed off enough then I go on a killing spree. I am usually good in games like fable or infamous. But if the npc's piss me off then I won't hesitate to kill them.

In games like oblivion I'm usually nice, and by nice I don't run around murdering scores of NPCs going trololololo unless I'm really bored. I do however steal anything I can.

it depends on the mood the game sets out for me and what mood I set for myself in red dead and gta I hogtie people and leave them on trackes and shoot guys in the face for getting in the way of my car but unless I set out and get into a roleplaying mode in a game ME2 I don't really behave like an asshole.

I had like 20 by the end of Zelda! (bu-dum, tish)

......(crickets)........

.................anyway, yeah I like being good at least on my first run through. After I've already played the game once, I'll become desensitized to the characters and be as big a murderous dickhead as I want.

I often found that no matter what I planned to do I could neither kill Dwayne Forge or Darko Brevich in GTA4 when the occasion arose. Dwayne was such a tragic character and playboy was such a tool.

Yep indeed I do

At one point in the game you are given the option to save/protect your pilot or use the distraction of her being murdered to sneak into a base, I spent about an hour trying to save her with a nonleathal strategy on the most difficult setting. I couldn't just leave her, I'd grown to attached she was like the closest thing to a real friend Jenson had.

I usually play as a reasonably 'good' characters in games. Well, Chaotic Good anyway.
Even in Overlord I tended to go with the "slightly less evil" options, never the less I did end up burning down the Elves sacred tree and condemning their entire race to extinction. ...oops.

I am always the good guy. If there is a 'angel' or 'savior' path in a game - you better believe that Peanut is on it.

I'll even die at the end, without hesitation, if that's where the path leads.

I'm a big softy.

Edit: This makes me a serial quick-saver/saver. Which means I'll save before any mission, and if anyone innocent dies that can make it through the confrontation - I'll do the mission over until I do it correctly and they come out alive. So,..there are a lot of NPCs in games that I have found myself not able to kill or just leave dead after the confrontation/battle/whatever.
