Well, f*ck. I'd love this position, but I won't be eighteen until March.

That's how you get around that, Funk :D

Oh, and what version of Word do you guys have? Because the newer ones auto-save documents to a format that older versions despise, so you could wind up with entries you can't read.

Crap, can't believe I just noticed this today. Well guess I'll just have to wait until the next opportunity rolls around. :p

You should have accepted my application the first time you asked for entries! You missed out, ha! Just kidding. Work's been keeping me too busy anyways and I probably have more anime than wearable outfits, so we're good.

Just out of curiousity, I know the application process is closed this week (the 28th, I think?), but any estimation of when the winners will be announced?

This may be a cheesy question, but would we be allowed to go by a pen name if we already have one?

I'd really like to do this, but I'll most likely be moving within the next 2-3 months. Can I still try, or would that be too much of a hassle? Thanks.
As long as it's something approximating a real name. Our articles publish under "Bob Wilson" not "Bobbernator123."

As long as you give advance notice and an estimate of how long you think you'd be out of commission.

It might work if you hadn't already entered your birthday in your profile.

This has been answered at length already. Sorry :(

I actually do that to avoid spambot crawlers. Force of habit. :p

And I have '03.

Sometime thereafter. We have other work that takes priority, of course.

Aw man, wish I'd seen this earlier, I was gone for a while on holiday. =/

I'd like to think 20+ years of anime/manga fandom would translate into a knowledgable review or two.

I don't know if 2003 can read .docx files. That's the format that newer versions of Word save to by default, so you might want to make sure that if 2003 can't read it that you mention in the instructions that people have to save to .doc instead.

(Went through this with a college professor. Emailed him a .docx, he couldn't open it, had to re-save to .doc and resend.)

Oh quick question (Sorry for double post...and late post) but would we be reviewing it dubbed and subbed or just dubbed? I have no preference as there are good subs, there are good dubs and then there are horrible abominations of both, but some people feel strongly one way or the other.

I would do that simply for fun, yet it'd be easier to do manga. Either way. Being an anime reviewer for Escapist sounds really fun.

We like our reviewers to watch a bit of both.

I'd do it, but I wanna know exactly what are the limits of what I would or would not be able to review, and whether or not I could reference the original work.
