Do you like gathering loads and loads of stuff, and sometimes never even use it?

In my Fallout 3 and New Vegas profiles I have an entire armory of weapons and armor, that I hardly ever even use, but I just like the feeling of having it! And sometimes when I stumble across a hidden armory or cache full of ordnance, armor and other goodies, I get a huge grin on my face :D

Absolutely. Battlehorn Castle in Oblivion for example, every thing has got something in it. I even took the time to put stuff in the display cases.

No I really hate hoarding things and having a convuluted inventory, even just keeping shit in an apartment (like fallout) annoys me, I either use it or sell it!! I suppose I do enjoy hoarding currency very reluctant to spend money if I know I can find the item somewhere. When I come across caches I smile at all the money I'll make, then cry as I can't carry it all and have to drop some.

Nope. If it takes up space, then it had better be usefull, or I'll sell it.

On S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CoP I like to have ridiculous amounts of extra stuff in my stashes in the major areas, at least 5 good condition assault rifles, a wide range of other guns, over 1000 rounds of both main types of AR ammo and a lot of medical kits and miscellaneous items. If I end up not having roughly this amount of stuff, I'll roam around for ages looking for it.

And a weird thing about the first game. The NPC's are always stashing their stuff in places scattered around the world, but you don't really realise just how useful that can be until towards the end of the game where you have way too much cool stuff to carry, so you end up storing it everywhere like a freakin' madman.

I sometimes collect unique items. Anything I'm not using, and that is not some sort of special quest reward or something, I sell. I don't like having too much crap lying around in my inventory or storage. I even sell special items if I know I won't ever use them, because of my character's build or something.

I pick up everything, and throw out stuff to pick up more stuff.

Ah man in oblivion in all my houses I bought all the upgrades to the house then went in took anything worth selling and sold it, everything else i picked up and just dropped a few streets away (so I never had to see it again!). So all my houses had bare shelves etc. I however did keep one chest full of things I may need at one point or didn't need right now, and often on a table where food would appear I would keep some alchemy gear, but that was my limit!

Yeah, that actually happens to me far too often in Fire Emblem.

As a huge JRPG fan, I can never waste an item. Even though I NEVER use them. I'm more of a heavy combat person...

Yeah I guess. But then again, in Fallout 3, it was almost necessary until you got the operation anchorage campaign and realized that there was a way to get a good melee weapon that never broke and so much ammo that only carrying said ammo while playing hardcore mode in New Vegas would make you over-encumbered five times over through a glitch. Also, you could get the chinese stealth suit, but there was no point to it seeing as, even when clothes "break," you can wear them at all times. It also helped that the one outside the simulator made you invisible if your sneak skill was high enough. So the game went from "Oh god I need more ammo and gun skills so I can possibly kill that Yao Gui!" to "Crap, now I have to make a new character because I didn't bring up my sneak and melee weapons skill up at the beginning!"

In that way, yes.

Oh yes, in every game I've ever played. When ever I try to throw anything out of my inventory I always think 'what if I need it later?' even if it's something incredibly stupid that I most certainly will not need later. This goes doublely so for one off super powerful items (like the Master Ball). I don't think I've ever used one, not even at the final/bonus boss. (I'm pretty sure there's a trope for my latter example, but I forgot what it was called xD )

Edit: Ah, here the trope is: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TooAwesomeToUse

I feel like I've done both. In my first Fallout 3 game for example, I collected anything and everything and used all the different storage containers in my Megaton home for different types of junk (one for ammo, one for weapons, etc..) However, I though I couldn't resist doing this, I was actually disappointed that it was so easy to do (one of the few flaws in the game).

Then a couple years later New Vegas came out and I was overjoyed with the fact that hoarding could now be punished. Just about everything had weight, including ammo (and I loved Hardcore mode in which you had to eat and drink, meaning even more weight management.) Unfortunately these did not outweigh (not a pun) the problems I had with New Vegas, but that's a different topic.

I'm using Fallout as only one example, but I think my point is that I will unfortunately hoard if the game allows for it. I can say this as well, that in my first Red Dead Redemption game I found it (pointlessly) necessary to maintain one of every item in my inventory.

No, Prime example would be Fallout where I always change my capacity that's for some abnormal reasoning thinks I can carry 250 Kg. I change that to 25 Kg. I scavenge for what I need, I think it makes it all more RPG like. In a RPG I should make choices, not be able to have everything.

Fallout 3. After Operation Anchorage, I went over my weight limit for inventory, and I was forced to walk all the way back to Megaton. Took forever.

Fuck. Yes.

In Fallout 3, My Megaton house has weapons and outfits laying all over the place.
You don't use the lockers?

Hell yeah. I'm one of those "I'm never going to use this item even though I'm desperate because I might need it later" sort of people.

I'm a huge hoarder in games and it doesn't help that I will steal anything that isn't nailed down either.
