Do you "own" your username?

For those of you who usually use the same username on different sites, what happens when you Google it? Have you reached the point where the majority of results are from you registering it, not some "impostor"?

And for those of you who're buried in obscurity, do you wish you'd been as smart as Randall Munroe and picked something as unique as "xkcd" when you made up your name at age 12?

As for me, I was surprised to find myself occupying 50% of the top 10. But I do wish it was more unique, cause dudes keep beating me to it on registrations.

Although I made this name up a few years ago, there seems to be a few companies under the name. And a few other search results for it, but the majority is my stuff mostly on escapist-related websites like warcry and ultimate anime (which I hadn't heard of).

Yup, it's just me. Oddly enough the first results are from Warhammer Alliance, despite me only having a few posts on that forum before moving elsewhere like the VN or some official MMO boards. Odd.

Mostly me. Anyone with the same name who isn't me probably stole the name from me, in all honesty.

I mean, I've never heard this combination of words used by anyone outside of myself.

When you google my username the first few are me but there are lots of people with the same name as me, my other username theredwindmill has the first page i think.
edit: just done a search for theredwindmill and now most of its for pubs and i only have 2 accounts under theredwindmill/inawindmill
