Do you role play in PTS or TBS games?

So, I was talking to my friend while playing Civilization Revolution, he asked me if I role played, and didn't quite understand the question, he went on to explain if he plays a neutral country he'll abstain from War and go a Technology win. Do you ever do this?

I personally just go for what the countries abilities are higher in.

I'm not sure I know what "PTS" is supposed to stand for.

Er, I suppose to an extent, but if we're talking about 4X games here then I'm pretty bad at taking non-military ways for winning. If I'm a more diplomatic race I'll generally try keeping my relations with other species happy, but in the end it still usually boils down to me wiping them all out with a fleet three times the size of anything they could realistically counter. If that's what's going to happen, I generally try to make sure all of my colonies are happy and won't start hating me for indulging in some lovely planetary bombardment.
