It's kinda a trick question

1) If you don't think you are shallow, you probably are
2) If you think you are, you are probably reflective to know that you aren't

People can't tell you because they won't know all of you.

So how do we find out?

Everyone is shallow, it's basic human nature to want stuff that looks pretty

If you accept that you are shallow then you're not lying to yourself and you can get on with your life

Atleast in my opinion

No, you could wade in me if you really wanted to.

*Ba-dum-tish!*

But it's sort of a natural human thing to be shallow. As a mainly eyesight dependent species, we tend to judge people by looks almost immediately. The real trick is to catch yourself doing it, and then not act on it.

In certain areas, hells yes. Even proud of my shallowness. Other aspects, now...no, I don't think I am.

As much as I don't like it, I can be excessively shallow concerning certain matters.
Then again, who isn't shallow at any degree? It's nothing out of the ordinary and I try not to worry about it.

Yes, I make most of my judgements about others based on a one-three second glance.
Yet, no. I can be convinced of people being better than they appear by continued interaction.

I am to a point.
I understand that I am pretty shallow so I try not to be but because I am human, it is tough.

Erm, I know I am. I look at people and in my mind I will think either "that person's attractive" or "that person's ugly"

Sure I am. I'm less shallow then most people these days though. Honestly as long as you look average and actually put effort into looking presentable I don't mind. The only thing I can really say that would make me shallow is I would never go out with someone that's overweight.

Initially, yes. However, I lose interest quickly if the person has the depth of a small puddle.

I think how shallow you are depends on how hard you try not to be - does that make sense?

It's like being polite - nobody is naturally polite, they learned to be and then maintain it. I think that hypothesis covers those times when you know you're being shallow, but you don't have enough energy to want to be, er, deep. Sometimes you just wana go out and mindlessly window-shop, or something.

Of course, I am a great advocate of always trying *not* to be stuff like shallow or impatient or whatever, but sometimes, it's just going to happen. It also depends what you call shallow, as people's definitions tend to be wildly different, usually depending on what our particular definition will excuse in own own behaviour! ;-D

In a lot of ways, probably. All the ways I can afford to be, I'd say.

True shallowness is only my last resort against soul-crushing depression, though.
