As the title says;
Do you trade your games or leave them be?

(First thread, go easy on me because I didn't search)

EDIT: I like to expend my collection, so therefore, I don't trade them.

I never trade in my games, I have always ended up regretting whenever I have done so in the past. The only time I would really sell a game is if I had doubles of it. It's really hard to get good money for used games these days, at least where I live.

I <3 my game collection and I don't really own any games I don't like, so I just keep all of them, and play all of them at my leisure.

I trade in every physical copy of a game I own eventually, unless it reaches a point where they only offer like 2 bucks, in which case I just throw it at a friend or something.

As a general rule, I trade in a game once the price I can get for eat exceeds how long its been since I played the game, like for example Im trading in fable 3 and black ops for dragon age 2 in a few days, since I havnt touched fable 3 in 3 or 4 months, and black ops in about 3 weeks, and am completely done with it anyways since the only person I played it with went off to college.

As for games I buy online off PSN or XBL, I just keep those in the back of my head and redownload them every couple months to pass the time.

I never trade my games, they all go on my special game collection shelf.

When I was younger I traded my N64 with Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye.
I have regretted it ever since.

I leave em be 90% of the time if I remotely like them. I play a lot of music while playing games, and I get to associating the game with the music to the point that I want to play the game when I hear the music and vice versa.

Really depends. Usually I keep them, but if I don't like them to the point that I know I'm never going to play them again, I trade or return.

I used to buy games cheap just to trade them in for a new game, giving me a new release for around 20$, but lately I just cant take the effort to do it.

I like collecting, so I keep all my games, just like books and music. If I want a single I'll download it from iTunes but for albums I try to get a hard copy. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but I like a physical copy of books, so a Kindle doesn't appeal to me.

I have traded them in if it was worth it. I have to get over 10 bucks for me to think about it. I got about 15 bucks for Oblivion GOTY edition so it was worth it. I think I have traded in like 4 games. Mostly I either keep em or give em away to someone I know that is interested. Recently, I have just given away Force Unleashed, MGS4, and inFamous.

I keep my games until they get lost and vanish into the æther or something terrible happens and they get broken.

Still got about a dozen NES Carts and a system floating around somewhere, as well as all my favorite SNES games and a system. I've got a good-sized pile of CD/DVD-ROM cases growing in the corner as well.

I don't buy many in physical form, and I always keep them. I rarely buy pre-owned as well, for two reasons. One, I prefer to make sure the games makers get at least a little amount of my money, rather than none at all, and also because I like to own things in pristine condition. I'm not a mad collector of mint edition stuff or anything, I just enjoy being neat and tidy.

EDIT: I'll point out now that if I buy a game that's no longer produced, especially if it's an old game for a now discontinued system or something, then I'll buy second hand. Obviously.

I just realized, I never gave up a game. Never traded it, sold it, trashed it, given it away. I have let other friends borrow my games.

Guess I don't like the idea of getting rid of stuff I spent my money on.

The only time I trade it a game is if I HATE it. These were Street Fighter 4, H.A.W.X. 2 and Bayonnetta. I traded in Ico too, but that's because I simply couldn't get into it. Sometimes I regret that decision, but if they do release the games on the PS3, then I guess I'll pick them up.
Otherwise, I keep my games. They cost good money, and I don't get good money trading them in. Plus, it's fun to stand up the entire Suikoden series and other series of games up for display. Just looks awesome.

I don't trade in my games. I like to have a collection, and I like knowing that if I ever feel nostalgic or something, they're right there for me to play.

That's not to say I've never traded in games though. But the primary motives to trade in a game for me are that it has to be worthwhile financially (as in I'm almost getting a new game for trading in the old one), and that I'm pretty sure I'm never going to want to play that game again.

For those reasons, the only games I've traded in are Borderlands, Crackdown 2, and Army of Two: 40th day. I got bored to tears of Borderlands, and Crackdown 2 and 40th day felt fucking INFERIOR to their predecessors. Plus they're all co-op, so I knew I wasn't ever going to play them alone. The second I heard I could get $40+ dollars for trading them in, I was all over it.

Other then those disappointments though, I keep em.
