Do you "un-box" your action figures?

I dont know many people here buy action figures or whatever

I know hardcore collectors don't unbox them because obviously it preserves their value and all that jazz

though for me I dont expect a standard set will ever be worth all that mcuh...right? (you know, like series 1 of mass effect 2 or whatever)

I couldnt stand the Idea of not unboxing, of not being able to take them out and pose/display them

or do some people cring at the very Idea of destroying the "mint" condition, I can understand keeping the "rare" or "really reall colelctable" ones sealed up...but the usual ones is it actually worth keeping them boxed?

Almost always. The only figure I've kept in a box is this Megatron bobble-head figure I have. I mean I have all of the MacFarlane figures of Noble Team and they'd be worth a fortune in a few years if I'd kept them in the boxes but I wanted to put them in cool battle poses :3

so I shouldn't feel bad about un-boxing, like I said, not that I think theyd be worth anything (Im guessing not)

I do, because I like to pose my action figures. Plus, having un-boxed action figures provides a great distraction when I have to take care of cousins/nephews/kids in general (I'm a teacher in my day job, so family members default to me when they need babysitting done)

Nope, never keep them in boxes, they are getting out as soon as I get home but I'm not much of a doll collector so I do tend to give them away to my nephews if they like them, I really don't mind saying goodbye to Superman but at least he didn't end up on a boat going down the river like Buzz Lightyear, you brave man I will always admire you're passion for exploration.

I dunno, I usually don't care. In fact a lot of the time I believe that figures should be taken out of the box. I just don't feel like they can be enjoyed properly if they're boxed away. At least I don't appreciate them as much if they are.

I didn't even know they did figures for Viewtiful Joe. I'm guessing they're worth quite a lot now then?

Of Course. How are you supposed to play with (or at least admire) them if you don't?

perhaps you can admire keeping them in "mint" and how much money you could potentially make?

There's no point in keeping Kamen Rider Decade in the box.

He can't fight for justice in the box.

That seems to be the only reason to keep them there.

The only figures I've ever kept boxed up were Darth Revan and Darth Malak, which I was extremely lucky to find when they first came out. I've since tracked down another pair for display purposes.

Of course. What the hell do I care about someone else's idea of their value? I'm displaying them, not selling them, and to me, they're priceless.

Granted, I'm not sure if what I have count as "action" figures, since they're meant for display rather than play, but my answer would be the same if I had reason to keep any toys from my childhood (as opposed to the collection of Type-Moon and Haruhi Suzumiya related PVC figures I've accumulated in the past four years).

All the figures I got are a few collectors Edition ones from games, two VG characters for my birthday and one anime figure. I keep them all un-boxed and sitting nice and pretty on my shelves and such. I mean why would you keep them boxed where you can't see them or enjoy them at ALL!?

Why do people keep them boxed anyway? Value...you expect to sell these later when you have your kids chewing/screwing with them?

They're priceless to me so I put them up for show where people can compliment them.

I guess it would be dumb to un-box a mint condition...incredibly valuble thing you bought

but otherwise Id prefer them out of the box

I guess it's good to keep them boxed if it is something REALLY valuable and expensive in the future where you can sell it. And how many figures (Plus Boxes) do you really have? If you have many figures it might be understandable. I only have a few so I guess I don't really know lol~
