Do you/would you sleep in the nude?

I've been thinking about this lately. I'm a female, and out of habit (and warmth) I wear both pants and a shirt to bed. But once a few weeks ago, I slept so restlessly I managed to wriggle out of my shirt, so I slept completely shirtless. And I'll tell you...it was nice. Something about the soft flannel directly on my skin was just cozy and novel.

So that got me wondering...how would it feel to sleep completely in the nude? The one thing that prevents me from doing it is hygiene--my bare nether regions making contact with the sheets directly. I know where they've been, and if I did that once I know I would not want to return to those sheets until they're washed again. And that's even if I take a shower before bed.

Have any of you ever slept in the nude, or do you on a regular basis? What's it like? How do you deal with the "icky" factor of your bare ass and other parts being in direct contact with the sheets?

It's temperature dependent.

In the summer time, yes. I'll sleep in the nude if the heat is unbearable.
Else, no. I prefer to wear pajama pants and a tee shirt.

I can't stand to sleep with clothes, and rarely with blankets. I prefer just a sheet and feel like someone is trying to hold me down or something if I have other stuff on. I do not even like the sheet to be completely covering me , just a little bit of it over my butt and that is it! HAHA

I also prefer silk or Egyptian cotton sheets, very soft. If you have never tried Egyptian cotton, you MUST! It is awesome! Not the fake Egyptian cotton, you have to get the real thing, it is the best! I do not see my ass touching the sheets as any more icky than my ass touching my undies. LOL

Ah, see I need like a mountain of quilts on me, especially now that we're getting into the winter time. Last winter my record was my flannel sheet plus seven quilts on top (though I had an old apartment that wasn't well insulated and I had my bed pushed up against an exterior wall). And that was WITH my electric mattress warmer that warms the lower part of the bed where my feet are. And even in the summer I love having the weight of at least one or two quilts on me. If I don't have something substantial over me I just can't sleep, even if I'm not cold.

And yeah, I suppose it isn't much worse than having your bare ass on underwear, but I change my underwear every day. I change my sheets every few weeks :p

I've tried it. It's fine. I'd usually rather keep on pajamas, though. Even in the summer. I'm weird like that.

I sometimes do in summer.

I'm a creature of cold climates. Hot days are miserable and hot nights are worse. So sometimes I'll sleep naked under just a sheet.

How does it feel? Umm... like being naked under a sheet. It's nothing special.

As for hygiene, what's stopping you from changing and washing your sheets? Besides, one's butt has to be touching something and I don't see how my butt touching a sheet is somehow worse than my butt touching my underwear or my trousers.

I always sleep wearing boxers or pajamas, although depending on the temperature I may not wear a shirt.

Naked. While I'm fine with sleeping in pj pants, more often than not I only like sleeping in the flesh. The weather where I live is basically crud all year round and sleeping with clothes on just does not feel good at all. The only times I wear pj pants is if there's family staying over.

I just don't like sweating in bed, and if I'm wearing anything, I sweat like a pig. It is rather disgusting feeling like I ran a mile in my sleep when I wake up.

Ahh I wash my sheets every day because I am highly allergic to dust mites, and it is much easier to wash sheets than it is blankets. I do not even keep blankets on my bed, I keep them folded and stacked on a vanity stool. Yea, I guess the environment where you live would determine how much covering you need. Here in Texas, you can go jet skiing on Christmas so you are more likely to be too hot than too cold. I cannot stand to be hot in my sleep and once actually jumped out of bed in the middle of winter with nothing on and ran outside ( not where anyone could see me ) because the heater came on and made me feel like I couldn't breathe. Right now it is 70F ( 21C) @ 9:30 pm here outside, and THIS is cold for us.

Now pillows on the other hand.. OMG I Love pillows! I have to sleep with a ton of them even though most wind up on the floor by morning, I have to at least start out with all of them.

I don't believe I ever have slept in the nude. At this point I think it would just feel extremely odd for me to do so.

I usually don't wear anything besides my underwear in bed though. Or at least that's how it used to be. Now I find myself being lazy and sometimes leaving my shorts/jeans on when I sleep.

I can't, even if I'm in bed with someone who prefers to sleep naked. I just don't feel comfortable being "out there" when I sleep, so I usually wear underwear and a pair of light shorts. (I can't wear a shirt or sweatpants, though, because then I get sweaty and don't sleep well even if it's cold in the room.)

I do in the summer, too hot for any clothes. Now though is the time of year when I sleep fully dressed (yes even shoes). Saves time in the morning since lacking a job or any places to go I can just get out of bed and have breakfast without worrying about finding clothes.

Totally depends on how warm it is. Our bedroom is not all that well insulated so in the winter, not really an option. Summer, yeah most nights I do. It feels....... just normal to me, not something I really think about. I can kinda see where the OP is coming from regarding the cleanliness of the sheets and whatnot, but I think that as long as you wash them weekly, right?

I've slept naked for many years now. I'll wear a t-shirt if it's cold out, since my upper body has a reasonably high chance of getting exposed while I thrash around, but that's it.

I used to sleep naked all the time, but recently I got a horrible skin irritation downstairs, and while I don't know if that had anything to do with it, I now sleep wearing some underwear.

I miss it though, sleeping naked was so comfortable.

I usually sleep in underwear, but sometimes Ill sleep completely nude. Sometimes the feeling of sheets against bare skin in those areas is nice, but often I just feel over exposed. I almost always sleep topless though, I find shirts to be very uncomfortable when sleeping.

This site gets random questions...anyway no because it's a habit so feels weird to sleep nude and I might have to get up in hurry and would rather be in a long shirt and pants or underwear than nude. Not that that's much of an issue anymore (it was when my grandfather lived with us). Still on the off the chance an emergency happens or someone attempts to rob the place at-least I'm clothed. Jeez that sounds paranoid but I don't think I'm sacrificing some great benefit from not sleeping nude.

I usually just sleep in my boxers. I don't mind the cold at all, possibly due to the fact that I'm big enough to radiate my own body heat. As a result, I don't see the need to wear more and I don't like sleeping in the nude really. :p
If it is freezing cold, like if I were at Big Bear or something then I'd wear thermal pajamas.

Also, I only sleep with one blanket, mainly because I'm too lazy to make my bed. It's just the one blanket on top of my comforter.

I did for about a week once. I had the house to myself and didn't have to worry about something being seen when my parents entered my room. The best week of my life when it came to sleeping. So damn comfortable. When I eventually move into my own place, I'm sleeping nude every night!

I now sport a t-shirt and gym shorts when I sleep. I do go commando though, underwear is just too uncomfortable.
