Let me open with saying that I like Moviebob in his bloody movie reviews. This is probably because reading movie reviews in anything other than Empire makes me want to fart blood, because they all seem to suck Hollywood's balls harder than a Dyson vacuum cleaner. So Bob's in some cases downright aggressive deconstruction of movies is refreshing and needed by me.
But his fucking "opinion" show.
I'll start with calling it pretentious, a sense you immediately get as he uses the smelling-your-own-farts self-satisfied jazz music to open, not to mention the 50's style retarded looking drawings he uses to talk from. He approaches every single fucking issue with no mind towards why people find said issue fascinating or fun, without the humor of Yahtzee to make it forgivable or the infallible reasoning and research of the Extra Credits crew (heading to PA.TV after this) to justify it.
Take the Halo episode, in it he tries to paint Halo as having fascist, militaristic undertones in direct opposition to his portrayal of the covenant as some sort of rainbow coalition of squid-faces. But the entire point, the titular focus of the fucking series is the Forerunner race that the Religion of the covenant centers around, and how this religion affects them to the point of causing them to launch a genocide against Humanity without a single question. Christ, I would argue the A story of Halo 2 was of the Arbiter as he uncovered the truth and freed the elites from the blinding influence of the Prophets. Even if Bob hadn't played the game a few minutes research would have shown him this. There's no reason you can't get that right.
So in conclusion, why the fuck would anyone watch this show, because I can't stand it. Please enlighten me, because I don't want to get angry at Bob every time I see his videos come up.

Short answer: Yes, or it wouldn't exist by now

Using the phrase "smelling-your-own-farts self-satisfaction jazz music" is a really bad way to present your case and undercuts the validity of your argument. Maybe the man just likes Jazz music and that happened to be a simple short clip of jazz music that's easy to insert into the show. Additionally, using the same music or style of music as his other shows makes it redundant and detracts from the identification of his shows. As for the faces, not everyone is good at picking up vocal inflections and their corresponding emotional underpinnings, especially since they change, to a degree, between individuals. They serve as a visual medium for our strongest ability to convey emotion, facial expressions. 50's fit the jazz so moving on.

I'll skip the "saying 'Fuck' in an argumentative statement weakens your presentation" bit and go straight for the fact that he never says the game isn't fun. He states that some things, like Halo, just really aren't a hit with him. Me either, not a Halo fan. Just my personal tastes. The Big Picture isn't a game review or really about why something might be enjoyed by some people, it's his opinions on various topics. Hell, he states that it's just him on a soapbox saying whatever comes to mind. Most the time it's because there's some random thing that annoys him or a random piece of trivia that he finds interesting. The Big Picture, ZP, and EC are three fundamentally different shows, don't compare them.

Take the Halo episode, in it he tries to paint Halo as having fascist, militaristic undertones in direct opposition to his portrayal of the covenant as some sort of rainbow coalition of squid-faces. *snip* Even if Bob hadn't played the game a few minutes research would have shown him this. There's no reason you can't get that right.
Um... Halo does portray the human army as having underpinning tones of racial supremacy. Did you miss the part where the Spartan's eyes turn blue? The majority of the UNSC troops are regular guys that you can identify with. Spartans on the other hand are faceless (blue eyed) soldiers, rather much the staple of fascist militaries. Think Stormtroopers versus rebel soldiers in Star Wars. The Spartans of Reach are by the book, orders only and most the time are addressed by their position, not their name. Soldiers are useless by and large, only through the intervention of the genetic super-soldiers and realization of the Elites does Humanity win. If that doesn't scream fascist military then nothing does. As for the multi-color rainbow that makes up the Covenant. Their religion isn't on their wiki page. I checked. So to someone who doesn't play the games or particularly know about their religion, their aggression was based on subjugating Humanity.

So in conclusion, why the fuck would anyone watch this show, because I can't stand it. Please enlighten me, because I don't want to get angry at Bob every time I see his videos come up.
No, learn to get over it. If you don't like something on the internet that you can't change, ignore it. Makes life nicer.

Here's an idea: If you don't like his opinions, don't watch the show. The show is presented as his OPINION show, so I'm not sure what else you would have been expecting.

Hi there, very angry man! How about this - watch what you like, don't watch what you don't like and watch that potty mouth of yours. I thought everyone on the internet knew that you don't start swearing until you're repeating yourself for the third time in a troll war. Kids these days...

But, anyway, if you've seriously got enough time to get angry about a video series you find pretentious, get a hobby. I hear horticulture is thoroughly underrated.

I watch it all the time, and I like it.
I don't like your post though, you come over as someone who just found out other people have different tastes in what is fun and what not.

So I will probably avoid reading your posts in the future.

See, that is how this works.
Like it, read more.
Don't like it, stop reading.

Bye.
