It could be because of hearing that U2 song a lot and I listen to it every New Year's Day but I get a feeling of uncertainty on that day. Don't get me wrong it's the good kind of uncertainty the kind that fills you with excitement. So does anyone else get that feeling on this day?

No? New Years doesn't really do much for me, especially 2016. There wasn't much worth celebrating, and 2017 is gonna' begin on a sour note.
So hopeful uncertainty? Nah. More like...dispassionate indifference mixed with a little bored resignation.

Eeeenope. It's just another day; nothing actually changes, and there's no "fresh new start" that can't be had any other day of the year.

If I sound like a killjoy, it's because I am one.

Usually I don't, but 2016 was such a bad year for me, I don't know what to expect of 2017, I know the first few months will continue to be shitty, though, since nothing changes overnight. I celebrated New Years in my shitty car with my dog, a bottle of water, a bag of Doritos and some dog treats. How fancy is that.

Also someone driving by called me fat when I was walking back to my car after buying my doritos, so that was a funny/random way to end the year. It's not like I was buying the 5kg bag.

I do not but I also don't believe in New Years resolutions or those kind of things so maybe that helps. The only issue 2017 causes is that I will almost certainly put the date as X/X/16 for the next month or so...

Not really.

I'm just viewing today as the next step in the evolution of the this grand shit show that is bound to continue.

Second verse, same as the first.

CNN hosts and friends seem to have a lot of bottled up sexual tension over Anderson Cooper.

Seriously what was that?
