Does anyone have an opinion on CoD:Black Ops II zombies yet?

I haven't bought the game yet (although I probably will, since this one includes bots like the first Black Ops and that's the most fun I've had playing Call of Duty since the first month of Modern Warfare 2 before the community pretty much became what it is today), but I was curious about the zombies mode.

I never really liked the zombie modes, even though I tried, and the reason is simple:
I don't mind increasing the amount of zombies that have to be fought at once and have to be fought each wave (that's to be expected), I also don't mind making all the zombies sprinters after a while (that makes it a legitimate challenge), but increasing the zombie's health significantly each and every fucking wave with no cap on their maximum health[footnote]as far as I know[/footnote] is bullshit.

I mean, sure, I don't want to pretty much one hit kill the zombies with everything like you do in the first few waves, but I also don't want to empty an entire LMG magazine getting mostly headshots and hitting at least 80% of the magazine and only kill three freakin' zombies. That's just silly.

So, I came here to ask you, Escapists, is the zombies mode in Black Ops II much different?
I'm not one of those crazies that'll only buy the game for the zombies mode, but I am still curious.

You know why it's like that right? Because it's endless . If it increases the challenge from wave, let's say 100 from wave ,let's say 200 . If there was a cap , player would meet the cap , and then the challenge is gone , because it's going to be that same wave over and over only with different numbers. The no hp game is to make you feel that every wave is getting harder , regardless if you are at wave 10 , 20, 40 , 75 , 100 etc ... Basically it's so that there is no definite end .

I reckon Nazi Zombies has kind of exceeded its lifespan.

I remember it being such an awesome surprise at the end of WaW, and the extra maps got better and better until they absolutely peaked with Der Riese.

I did *like* the Black Ops zombies (especially playing as Kennedy, Mcnamara, Castro and Nixon), but somehow it seemed like it was overdoing the formula on something that was a fluke in the first place (although I never played any map past Ascension...)

Zombies has become ultimately a large part of the Treyarch CoDs, but I think it has a lifespan like any other; though I probably won't be playing BlOps 2 for along time.

As someone who has played games with survival modes that had a definite end point, I can vouch that this is important. With the ones that let you win, you pretty much beat it once, maybe twice, and then you're done with the whole mode, because there's nothing left to do. With a truly endless mode, like what Treyarch does with their zombies mode, the replayability is, well, endless. I'm not a huge fan of CoD, but I respect what they've done with zombies mode, because I've seen other studios screw up that simple concept. Namely Valve, with their Mann vs. Machine mode in TF2. It's basically Nazi Zombies, except you win after at most seven waves. Once you've gotten to where you're consistently winning, there's not much reason to play it any more. And I /do/ love TF2 normally. I love MvM mode, for that matter, it just has no replayability thanks to the lack of an endless waves option.

Agreed, I hate borde modes or zombie mdodes that end because after the first time there isn't usually much reason to replay.
