Does anyone still read Graphic Novels?

I'm not talking about comic books but actual Novels along the lines of Watchmen, I know people out there read them but no-one is open about it. I personally have Watchmen, Batman Arkham Asylum (The 15th anniversary edition with the notes at the back) and have started on the Preacher series. Also if anyone can recommend any Graphic Novels would be brilliant.

Last year, I've read the following:
The Watchen
V for Vendatta
The Sandman series
Maus

It was a mindblowing year, to say the least. I wish this year was nicer to me, at least in monetary terms, I'd love to dive deeper into graphic novels, but I just don't have the money to do so.

I have Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Road to Perdition (all of which I'd recommend) and many others, usually Batman stories and collections of comics. I still read them and pick them up if I see them in Waterstones. And I've never not been open about it, I've even introduced a few of my friends to them.

Uh... no, in that case. Really though, I've never actually seen a graphic novel for sale or in any library. I might order some off the internet some time and check them out.

I have a wealth of them on my external hard drive though.

Most recently the sandman series by Neil Gaiman which I would strongly recommend, along with his novels.

Also, Freakangels by Warren Ellis is online for free, so that's worth a look.

I read Fables and Jack of Fables whenever a new book comes out, and I heartily recommend those (read Fables first, then go to spin-off series Jack of Fables. Will make more sense that way). I also recommend Hellboy and B.P.R.D., as well as V for Vendetta.

I don't feel like making this an argument, but isn't Watchmen just a comic book aswell? It's comprised of pictures and tekst bubbles, right? Isn't that basically the definition of a comic?

But yeah, I read Watchmen.

I also read Akira and Berserk if they count as graphic novels.

I've read Wanted, Watchmen, Wolverine Origin and Old man Logan, House of M and Angel after the fall part one.
Granted some of these may not strictly be graphic Novels, but I read them and am slowly increasing my collection

I think It's to do with the size. Things like Ultimate Spiderman or Uncanny X-men are all comic books fairly short but make up a series.
Graphic Novels are much larger, like Watchmen and are stand alone

I try my hardest to juggle graphic novels and novels. I've read Watchmen about 4 times, a couple Deadpool novels (including Suicide Kings), most of the Scott Pilgrim series. I'm trying my best to build up a collection.

But Watchmen was released in 12 issues. A graphic novel is essentially a collection of issues or a long comic book.

But that's it.

I've read, and own Watchmen (both DVD and book) and thought it was awesome. As for recommendations, I suggest both the MAX publishing line of 'Punisher' (MAX is the adult version of Marvel) and 'The Boys' by Garth Ennis.
