I watched the movie bob film review of Watchmen and was left distinctly unimpressed. It seemed he was aiming for an almost 'Yhatzee' style of film reviewing and it came off a bit like a cheap knock off. In depth details were kinda buried under his crushing amount of praise but for all that I didn't feel that I knew the film any better other than this guy absolutly loved it.

So this led me to think, does Movie Bob really know what he's talking about?

He seems to be very intelligent to me. He doesn't so much as review the movie as he does tell you how good he thought it was. That's perfectly fine, you know? He does it in a way that gets you interested, and manages to make his opinion known.

Personally, I reckon he should also be allowed to do his Game Overthinker bits as well, because that's where he really shines. He does a fantastic job of making you challenge your way of thinking, and gets the "games are not all bad" message across pretty well.

You're probably right, I never liked Doomsday Arcade in the first episode and now I love it. It's just I was expecting more review and less "It's fuckin' Great". My friend tells me films are 'fuckin great' yet he doesn't seem to have his own show. That I know of. I'll check out his other reviews.

You know, there is a comment area on here for his videos...
Yeah feedback is always welcomed here too. Sorry I know I'm more or less double posting but dammit I got work to do!
Well, when I did something like this, it didn't go down that... well...

Hurm, he talked about little of the plot which leads me to believe that he is trying to get people to watch it. I did, and thought it had a lot of nerdy porno and a lack of characterization on night owl's part.

Trust me giving negative feedback is a very hard thing to do. The challenge is to get your message through without being degrading or attacking the creator himself. Examples with clear cut moments or quotes explaining that you did not understand his point or ask what he was trying to deliver. This will force the creator to explain his point more clearly and understand that the review will need to be reexamined before putting out the next video or review.

Meet the reviewer halfway. Take the first step and be honest but be clear with your message and remind the reader that you are not attacking him but asking about the review in question.
But comments work too... Did you ever see Video Game Theatre? No? That's because the feedback was so bad in the comments, it was canned. If only they read the comments and improved the concept! I wouldn't respond to this, this is becoming a quote wall...

Well I kinda disagreed with the review that's why I questioned if he knew what he was talking about. He argued that the film was so good, it should be valued as a film in it's own right. I disagree, whilst I do think it was a great film I would argue that the source material is the main cause of this. A huge amount of scenes were copied with almost religous fanboy fanatacism (excluding the ending which really is up to personal preference) and while I respect this, I argue that it undermines the film as a film and not just a carbon copy of the original graphic novel. Yes it is good but it owes way too much to the original source material to be valued as a film in it's own right
