I'm from sweden, in europe. donald duck is VERY popular and there's lots of magazines and toys etc, etc, but the two times i've been in USA i haven't seen a single donald duck thing. nothing at all. i mean, he was created in USA. So is America tired of walt disney classics? or does Sweden stay old school?

It's just a Culture thing. Cuz Sweden loves Donald, it will keep loving Donald, and they'll keep making awesome music.

eh, I see Donald Duck products here and there in England, but not on an extremely frequent basis...

We know of its existence, but kids these days are more interested in WALL-E and Madagascar characters, etc

It was also really, really popular in Poland. A comic thrice, later twice a week, also a bigger magazine once a month, and a Giant comic. That was the name, The Giant, about 100 pages of comics. And there was a short-lived series of big-sized (A4) comics with Scrooge. Bought... 4 issues, and love all of them. Especially the style, with lots of details and funny background action.

Haven't seem him around much in London but its not like there is a tracking system for him. I guess the kids these days are moving on to different things like Pokeboy and Ben28 and not so much into Disney based characters. Dunno about the US though, I hear crazy things happen in that arcane land.

The only time I see him here in the US is in the mornings during those Kiddie grade shows.

Kind of sad really, he and the rest of the classics have been flipped off and tossed away to make room for cheap mediocrities like the Jonas brothers.

Probably because here in the states Disney guards their intellectual property with Grinch-like intensity.
They've even sued daycare centers for using their mascots without permission. And by using I mean putting pictures of them up in the window.

The most popular Disney character in the US is Mickey Mouse while Donald Duck fullfills that role in Europe (especially in the Netherlands, Denmark and Scandinavia).

Sweden is different. I know, because I live there. It's a bit weird that he gets more attention here, but then again, this is the country that shows Disney reruns on Christmas.

Norway here. Also Donald Duck country. This is because Donald is crusty, ill tempered sailor with swearing problems, like most norwegians. In the US, Mickey and Minnie steal the spotlight.

The guy's HUGE here in the Netherlands but I must confess that on my trips abroad, he was hard to find.

I think Donald duck is a classic everywhere but today's kids want more action and violence than comedy. I'm Bulgarian and I grew on Donald duck comic books but my cousin who's 11 now hasn't even heard that there was a comic book about him. I think today's children get used to violence, drugs and alcohol in movies and animations a bit too soon and Donald only offers comedy to them....
