If you get the reference, then welcom to the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy thread.
Do you know where your towel is?

Yep. I always know where my towel is.

I also, as a joke, go to pet shops and ask if they have any Babelfish.

Love it, but can't be arsed to re-read it or read it in english :-/ Maybe one day...

Anyway, I actually have a fanboy towel that says DON'T PANIC, I tend to bring it with me whenever I think it might be useful ^^

If by "influence" you mean "made you laugh", yeah, sure.
But it didn't change my life or anything.

I initially thought that you were referring to the British wartime show "Dad's Army".

However, apparently not.

Love the books, the TV series, the radio series, and the film's alright. Although the adaptions for TV and radio especially are just the books in a different medium.

Always know where your towel is. Very important, that.

You do realise that it was on the radio before it was a book?

'Don't panic' could be reference to an awful lot of things.

I've no time or patience for books and the HHGTTG film was awful.

The film made me giggle a few times, but that's about it.

The 42 thing was pretty good, though... And the depressed robot.

It temps me to answer all my math problems with 42.
That and I want to make a chronically depressed robot. :D

Basically what this guy said.

I've also always wanted to make an Infinite Improbability Device. It'd be fantastic.
