Downgrade Itouch Firmware

Hello Escapists,
Can anyone out there help me downgrade my firmware from 4.1 to 4.0.1 I believe so I can jailbreak my ipod. I've tried google, but most of the guides don't make any sense to me since I am a complete idiot concerning any form of programming. Any help would be much appreciated.

Jailbreaking a device is 100% legal, I believe. I think I saw an article on the Escapist itself saying something along those lines.
What he does after he jailbreaks it isn't the action in question.
