Dragon age 2 question.

I've read a lot of reviews about Dragon Age 2 and so far, I've seen good things. I am leaning towards getting it, but the question I have is, should I play Dragon Age Origins first? The reviews say that I won't miss much if I skip over Origins, but I want to ask the people who've played it.

It's not really as much of a deal as, say, playing Mass Effect 2 while not having played Mass Effect 1.

You'll just have to read up on some of the lore in the codex pages if you want a little more knowledge about the world, if you're into that sort of thing.

You should play origins so you can see how 2 is butchering the series.

No reason not to. It's a good game.

Playing it isn't as vital as playing Mass Effect before ME2, though. That's an actual trilogy with a single story in three acts, whereas the Dragon Age series is more about the setting.

I Personally think it is worth it, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, it is long with alot of in depth story attached to it

I'm not going so far to say that's it butchering the series, but it's definitely not as good as DA:O was (Leliana will always have a special place in my heart.)
