Already covered this in the original topic bout the game. I've seen footage where Frieza goes Golden and where Goku goes Super Saiyan 3 but I'm not sure if they're just part of super moves or if the game will let you move up and down freely between transformations.
As always, you've got us covered when it comes to Arc Systems fighting games. Thanks for the link.Dreiko said:Already covered this in the original topic bout the game. Haha, my pleasure. The sheer level of hype in this game is enough to make sharing the word fun in itself somehow. This is legit about as close to my dream game as one can get. Now I just need them to put fuurinkazan Bang in as a guest char! XDsageoftruth said:As always, you've got us covered when it comes to Arc Systems fighting games. Well speaking as someone who dislike Dragon Ball Z I think it would be an ideal property to be done without a story because the writing in actual Dragon Ball Z is atrocious(much like the Injustice games). However even then I think it should have a story mode. It's something else they can do that will make people happy no matter how bare bones and awful it is and regardless of it's overall quality people that want story modes can play it and people like me who do not can just skip it and everyone is happy. Looking forward to it either way.CritialGaming said:This looks like a tighter and better fighter than any of the previous DBZ games. It will be interesting to see. I just hope it isn't a pure competitive game and has a single player mode to it.
God can you imagine a DBZ game with a story done in the Injustice style? They could have all of my money for that.
By the way, how do you feel about character variety? I know it's too soon to really judge them on the roster, but I'm worried that the game's roots in the DBZ franchise will make every fighter too similar with their ki-based fighting styles.Dreiko said:Haha, my pleasure. This is an interesting topic. In interviews they mentioned that they picked "standard" chars to showcase and that not everyone will play in that way. Buu was the only exception and he had weird projectile-grab attacks and so on. I wouldn't worry too much here, as it is arcsys.sageoftruth said:By the way, how do you feel about character variety? With Arc Systems being the pioneer for extremely unique characters with their own special traits, I felt a hint of disappointment when I saw some footage and noticed everyone was firing off giant ki waves. Do you think Arc Systems will be able to keep its roster of DBZ characters from blending together too much?
That's good to hear. I'm not too familiar with 3v3, since it's often hard to tell what's going on when watching those games on Youtube. Still, it will be an interesting new direction for Arc Systems. If they can put their special touch on 3v3, I'll look forward to seeing how it comes out.Dreiko said:This is an interesting topic. That being said, this being a 3v3 game means that a lot of the depth will indeed come from team composition, so you will benefit by thinking in teams and not in chars, thinking as though all of the tools of all 3 chars is actually contained within one body. If you think of it that way, then the sheer combination of teams will avail you of the real depth of the game and provide enough variety to rival their other games.
