....Still think the older DBZ Broly was better.

Animation looks good though.

And so far I don't see any indication of Broly having more a character because they cleary have Broly's dad Paragus here and he's still doing the Mind-Control thing on Broly.

I guess the change they will do is not have Broly be a mad psycho because Baby Goku was crying next to him and that bothered him?

One thing that kind of makes me optimistic is that it seems they're going back to his tragic backstory and not just him being a dumb idiot who only knows the word Kakarot.

one problem I have with the trailer is they sing his Praises a little bit too much. Hopefully that won't be all over the movie.

The team behind One Piece Z is making this movie. So that's a plus

The generic doomsday trailer music felt a little off for the usual tone of these things but it was cool nonetheless
I assumed that was more Funimation than toei on that

How to spoil your movie in one trailer....

In any case, looks like fun!

Looks good. Better then the entirety of Super and the last 2 movies, but that's a low bar, they looked like shit. Ironic, the best thing to come out of Super so far is another Broly movie.

But animation fetishists are already spooging at the 'fluidity focused artists' and downplaying the cool looking parts that normal people like, aka the parts drawn by Takahashi. Y'know, the shots that look most like Dragonball. Those are him. Heavy shading, uses the character styles from the old Z movies and Buu. But 'duh animashun' crowd is focusing on guys like Tate, who's art looks like absolute shit when it isn't something in fast motion.

Remember the part where that's not what happened and you are quoting a meme? If you wanna seem knowledgeable about DB maybe watch the first Broly movie and realise the people saying that are full of shit. Or in downright embarrassing cases, willingly ignore parts of the movie to hate on Broly, like it's sadly the case with TeamFourStar. They have the Hate-Boner-For-Broly and the DRAGONBALL WAS SO DIFFURUNT memberberries combo going hard. Neither is accurate, at all.

But here let me spoil it for you: immediately after the whole crying thing, Broly got stabbed as an infant, in what has the be the most out of place brutal scene in DB, then he's thrown in the garbage, literally. Planet is blowing up at that point, his latent power awakens and keeps him alive. So that trauma makes him psychotic, plus the power itself is evil on top of that. (And he's a Saiyan warrior dude born with outrageous strength, they're a naturally violent warrior race, so his shit is par for the course. And destiny deemed he fight Goku according to his dad? Frankly, the movie keeps piling justification upon justification. The baby stabbing was enough.)

Moving on, Goku's image is associated with the traumatic memory, so when he sees him, he's reminded of the trauma, his power surges, he breaks his mental restraint thingy, and then decides to have fun tormenting everyone, not really focusing Goku.

So yeah, them's the breaks. You've been had by vocal pissbaby fanboyism.
Wow, someone who actually defends Broly as a villian and character?

Someone who actually remembers the fucked up things that happened to him as a baby? Because despite me saying that crying Goku thing, I still actually remember he was stabbed as in infant and thrown in the garbage. Perhaps the only thing that I would question about that is how the hell would he remember any of that when he looks like he was practically a month old?

But regardless there it is, and also people constantly write him off as if all he ever says is "KAKAROT!!!!" completely forgetting that he did had other words to say. And yes his extreme power probably also contributed to his psychopathy.

And yes I also have a dislike of TeamFourStar in terms of them overshadowing the actual english dub of Dragon Ball Z, perticularly the Toonami Era Funimation Dub. TeamFourStar merely introduced DBZ to a new generation who mostly used the internet and to them its thier DBZ even though for all intents a purpose its a comedic parody.

Yeah, so long as they don't have Broly's motivation boil down to "Because Goku cried....a lot....for like, 3 hours...." then I'll be satisfied.

They kept his green energy, so that makes me happy. :^)

Broly always had so much potential as a character. He is the "Legendary" SSJ. All the others reached SSJ by achieving something akin to a limit break, Broly was the one that was spoken of in the prophecy that Vegeta relentlessly harped on during the Frieza Saga. A natural born SSJ.

But TFS pegged him right in their Broly video. All the ungodly power of the LSSJ...but he's pissed off because the baby in the crib next to him cried a lot. "But...but that's really dumb. But he's so cool! BUT THAT'S SO DUMB!!!"

The good news - or at least I hope it's good news - is that it looks like they might not go with that motivation. The trailer shows a clip of Paragus and a random saiyajin landing by a crashed pod. I'm hoping that's Broly's pod, and that Paragus simply "adopts" Broly as his son in order to use him as a weapon. I can accept the whole mind control business so long as they don't go with the "Broly is super ultra mega triggered every time he hears the name Kakarot.

All in all I've gotta say I'm really hyped for this movie.

I've seen the Broly movie and yeah, what you've said has a lot of validity to it...except for the whole "he associates Goku with the trauma". If anything he should associate Vegeta with it considering Vegeta looks exactly like his father. You know...the guy who stabbed him. Him going crazy by even hearing the name Kakarot doesn't make any sense outside of the notion that Goku kept crying as a child (something that is heavily emphasized in the movie...and iirc is even specifically mentioned by Paragus).

Look, I love me some Broly. But it's pretty clear that his hatred for Goku comes from Goku's incessant crying, not from the trauma he suffered as a child - which had nothing to do with Goku - somehow becoming associated with Goku.
