I once played a Army sponsered game and found it to be very charming yet appealing, but then again I was only 10 then.
I also played a old Lara Croft Game and found it to be stupid and dull, but yet AGAIN, I was 5 when THAT happened.
Now it has totally switched with Dragon rising and Uncharted 2, both very similar to the above games but yet completely different.
In Uncharted 2, You play again as Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who best describes himself as ' everytime I touch something, it turns to shit',aka, Doctor Jones Sydrome.
In this entry, you are trying to find the secret city of Shangrla, but are continusly hunted down by Bad luck and a incredibly Dense Villian named Lazarvitch( I think that's his name) who apparantly doesn't understand the fact that things would go SO MUCH EASIER if he just doesn't kill and mutilate anyone who even questions his ability to reason.
Anyway, you start the game off in a train that is hanging off a cliff, where you learn how to climb and jump your way through the slowly destructive enviroment.
The game early on makes you care about Nathan; Simply by making you go through the pain and misery will you not only sympathis with him, but start to like him.
The Game's combat is stealth/cover based shooting. The Stealth of this game is handled in such a smooth way that I can not complain whenver the alarm sounds because I know fully it's my fault and not the devolopers.
When you get discovered, you can dive for cover and shoot the hell out of anyone that looks at you funny. Which I can say is almost Gears of War styled( Only much more smoother and funner).
While your in Cover, you should enjoy the Gorgeous enviroment! The Snow and water are probably the best looking water I have ever seen in a game so far; I coulden't resist going into a pool while in the middle of a Destroyed city and Hearing Nathan shout 'MARCO!'.
The story seems strangly just like the first half of National treasure but yet I have nothing to complain about( even though the good guys seem to make way too many wisecracks in the middle of battle).
The Game is very well made, and I have to say if you are to get a PS3, this HAS to be your first choice while looking for a game.
-------
Now, Dragon Rising...This Game is strikingly similar to Most Army Sponsered Games, where you have realistic settings with Realistic Weapons and with Realistic Bullet wounds and effects.
The Game is set in the year 2010 or 2012( I get confused with each strangely) where the oil in a far off Russian Island is being threatened by the Chinese. You are a US soldier sent their to protect the Country's Interests(IRAQ*COUGH* FAILURE*COUGH*).
You play with four others as a squad; Mostly you are the Fire commander(leader).
Now WAIT! This is where I have to go Soap Box here:
The Problem with games that rely on you commanding a squad is that your soldiers are either incredibly retarded...or the enemy has bat ears which can detect the faintest sound from a mile away.
Left 4 Dead, like any valve game, has managed to show that you don't need to be commander of a team to not feel like your doing something. With everyone depending on one another, we all have to work together which makes that game one of the funnest games I ever played.
Dragon Uprising is sadly,SHIT. I give my squad the command of following me but sometimes they jump into a vehicle and then run me over( It has actually happened).
And when I order my team to fire at a enemy soldier who is about to gut me in the stomache, they usually keep firing at some mortally wounded soldier behind a peice of cover.
My Advice? Just Get Human Players.
BUT WAIT! Dragon Uprising Multiplayer.
AND GUESS WHAT? IT SUCKS!
Right from the beginning I hated it. I spend 80% of my time with this game waiting for a good server while listening to the horrible groaning of the menu music( I believe that is the groaning of a million players as THEY wait for a game).
And when I finally do get on a game, the human players immediatly spread away and go their on way, leaving me to fend for myself against the strangely better enemy army.
In Conclusion? I hate Dragon rising. Buy Uncharted 2.
